QNAP TS-431XeU-8G-US: High-performance 4-Bay 1U Rackmount NAS with 10GbE Network and 8GB RAM Review

I bought this NAS for $319, claiming it was refurbished. However, when I received it, it was still in the original sealed packaging. I think it was an open box. Great price, works great. product as described.

The ears of the rack are provided with screws, which are then not screwed into the 1U device. And a 1U device is definitely not heavy enough to require rails. Do not buy this if you plan to place it in a small home small office rack.

I was very excited to get the NAS working. This device offered excellent value for money. However, upon arrival and first boot it turned into a nightmare. After repeatedly flashing the firmware and trying to slowly update firmware versions, I'm still only at 50%. the production is finished. Once I get this thing working with the latest firmware I'll update my review to include a link to the tutorial. However, I'm already 10 hours and still don't have high hopes. Just take a look.

I am a big fan of good customer service and had to call QNAP after only a few months of use. My server was in need of an update and the maintenance staff is terrible and doesn't really know what they are doing. I would not recommend buying their products based on their customer service. You won't get good support and they won't give you any help at all. I can't believe they are dealing with such poor service. DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM BECAUSE OF THEIR TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

QNAP offers very good features for the price. Your management interface is very good. I had some trouble getting their certificate through my firewall. I wanted to try something in a newer firmware, unfortunately I haven't been able to try it yet (see below). This is a NAS with 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports and one SFP+ 10G port. It doesn't come with hard drives. The NAS is designed to be installed in a 1U slot. Please note that the 1U slot must have a mounting position in the center of the slot as the screw hole on the mounting kit is in the center of the panel and not up and down like many other rackmount devices.
