Description of Dark Quikwood Epoxy Putty - 1 Ounce

Will not shrink or pull away. Cured hardness and density are similar to that of wood. Putty-like consistency eliminates drips and runs for a "no mess" application. No tools required for use. One hour after application can be drilled, sawed, sanded, filed, tapped, machined and painted.

Great gear material

This epoxy exceeded my expectations. It serves its intended purpose better than anything I've used before. Set up quickly and let dry overnight. It didn't shrink, it worked really well, the color blended well.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Easy to use and can be sanded

It worked really well. I filled in the screw holes and fixed a chipped corner on a small dresser. It needs to be processed (shaped) quickly because it hardens quickly. He polished up nicely. Couldn't tell this new corner from the others and couldn't find where to patch the screw holes. I was very happy with the results.

Pros
  • Hands Free
Cons
  • Upgradeable

great for cosmetic repairs but not structural

I've had great success using Quickwood for cosmetic wood chip and gouge restoration, but it's not as structurally sound as Miliput. I used it to fix a wall where an overloaded hook had broken out of a panel. While the repair looked fine, now no significant weight can be applied to the hook without fragmenting the repair.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Not sure

Can't get this color from Home Depot. Also fresh.

This color is not available from Home Depot or Lowes. Only a light tan is available there. Also, the stuff available at Home Depot seems to be "outdated" or old lately, as it's grainy and doesn't mix well and then hardens too quickly. The material ordered online here looks much fresher as it mixes well and cure times are closer to specs.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Blank

Excellent Epoxy on Wood Filler

I used to work with epoxy and it was amazing. Easy to cut, mix and spread. I turned this into a piece of carved wood for a chair I was planning to renovate. I made a mold out of hot glue, filled it with epoxy and put it in place. Uses rubbing alcohol to blend the edges. Hot chemical reaction! Made the mold a little tacky to remove but the epoxy cured and stayed in place. Well sanded, varnished to match and finished with Varatan varnish. It's hard to see the renovation at the end. Good product.

Pros
  • Free for Educational Purposes
Cons
  • New Competitors Have Popped Up

God's Gift For Serious Carpenters

I've used MANY wood putty knives and wasn't satisfied with any until I discovered this epoxy based putty knife. As long as you use the color that most closely matches your wood, chances are no one will ever know you've had to putty a piece. All wood fillers say they absorb paint, stain, and varnish just like wood. Being nice is an incredible deception. But this material absorbs stains really well, and transparent coatings (varnish, polymer, varnish) retain the same consistency on putty as on…

Pros
  • Easy To Read Control Panel
Cons
  • Negative Gift
