The Perfect Knife - Boning Knife

I have had Rada knives for almost 20 years and wanted my sister to have something she could actually use to cut meat. So I gave her a pair with a sharpener. Revain makes it easy to send things to other addresses, and not only is she surprised, she uses them all the time. So if I go to her house for Thanksgiving, I don't have to bring a knife to butcher the turkey. Thank you Rewin!

Pros
  • Regular Price
Cons
  • Safety

It's a good boning knife

There's nothing wrong with this. I have been using Rada knives for many, many years and the quality is consistent. This knife is a good boning knife, the blade is not hard and razor sharp. They are easy to sharpen, I use a Rada knife sharpener which is also easy to use and economical and keeps my knives sharp. I recently gifted it to my granddaughter, she loves it. I highly recommend this Rada boning knife.

Pros
  • finally bought
Cons
  • embarrassed

It's a great knife, but my hand and grip don't match

I really wanted to like this knife. Once I lived near the factory and I knew it was going to be good. Apart from the fact that the handle is too short for me to be able to grip it well, there is nothing wrong with this knife. I like the texture of the grip, but it ends in the middle of the muscle just below my pinky finger. It's good quality, well built, but if you can't hold the knife securely, there's no point in hanging on to it.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Minor issues

So good I had to write about it

I have a drawer full of quality knives, but after buying this one I actively searched for it every time I needed to use it. My wife has never had a thing for knives and would often choose the wrong knife for a task, even beginning to look for it. My father has been cutting meat for over 50 years and has used thousands of knives. When he visited me he commented how good the knife was without my asking.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

Excellent handy knife

Although not positioned as a fillet knife this tool is exactly that. I've been using mine for over 20 years. The thin, flexible blade is ideal for removing inedible peels from mangoes, for example. Can also be used as a deboning tool. Please note that it is NOT dishwasher safe. As I've learned the hard way, dish soap stains the handle. Paired with a Rada two-wheeled sharpening steel, this knife is invaluable in my kitchen. Just bought as a Christmas present.

Pros
  • Nice thing
Cons
  • Almost everything included

Thin and does not hold an edge

This is a very light knife, even thin. At best, only the blade is light and flexible and the handle is hard and heavy. If you have weak hands or arms this might be a good knife for you, but I've found that every time I use it I have to take a few taps on the sharpener to get it to cut. Forget thin slices of roast/ham/turkey. This knife just doesn't cut it, literally. Given the low price, I shouldn't complain, but no matter how cheap the price is, a carving knife should cut meat reliably.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Replacement availability

Flexible and Sharp - Boning Knife

I have not purchased a Rada product that I have not given a five star rating. I have a knife rack full of their knives, as well as a few spatulas and other utensils. The price and quality can't be beat. I always take metal pencils and try to wash and dry them quickly so the pencil doesn't discolour. But even if they fade a bit, I still like the way they look a lot better than black pencils. The Rada sharpener is easy to use to keep knives sharp. I bought it to use as a fish fillet knife. We…

Wow. Just wow this is one hell of a knife -

Superbly sharp, light weight, good for carving or milling bone and appears to be quite well made, especially at the ridiculously low price. I have knives that cost me ten times as much, but after reading the reviews on Revain I couldn't resist - I had to try Rada products. I have to agree with the reviewers - you can't beat this line in something that costs $50, and for less than $10, it just isn't a problem! If you're in the knife market and don't care if it says Wustoff or some other high-end

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable buy for seniors
