Great product for beginners and parts

Works great. Install this item in a 2003 Mercedes C2 40 that had a dead battery in about three days. Use it to disconnect the battery ground cable from the frame. Once installed the car can sit for months and still have enough battery to power up and start. To do this, simply connect the feed circuit to the toggle switch under the dashboard. A great durable product with many other uses besides its original purpose.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Repair

Not reliably good for starters and alternators

I tested this application for continuous use with a battery and electronic controller and it started to hang for about 20 cycles - that was with no load connected. A good push will release it, but that can be dangerous in many applications. The unloaded coil uses almost 12 watts, so it runs quite warm. I know it's pretty cheap, but failing to even perform its primary function in ideal conditions when new is unacceptable.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Expensive

no problems so far good for starters and alternators

I have used this on a gas powered golf cart with parasitic battery drain. I installed this to control the ground wire. I control this relay with a toggle switch. When my switch turns off, it breaks the ground and protects my battery from what causes parasitic discharge. Better than chasing wires on an old golf cart hoping to find parts for a 1986 Yamaha. At the time of testing on August 13, 2019, this relay has been in operation for 4 months.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • could have chosen a newer model

Bad customer service, cheap device, don't buy - avoid these people.

The device sometimes stays locked until we hit it with the handle of a screwdriver, then it breaks off. We contacted support and received an apology. We have used this unit for on/off switching in an automotive electronics shop and have never run more than 100 amps through this unit. It's basically a cheap thing and I suggest you don't buy it unless you want to install something that will break on day two and where the support team won't let you walk.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Not bad

Unreliable - Stuck off

Don't even waste your time on this thing. I never write reviews but the crappy nature of this solenoid is what made me do it. It works well until it shuts off after 5 or more minutes of use. If you try to turn it back on, it won't turn on until it "cools off". It doesn't feel warm, but after use it won't turn on until it's been seated for 5 minutes or more. I linked the issue to temperature because it only happens when the outside temperature is 80F or higher. I used one to power the car's…

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Speed
