Multiple Protections: The Voyager controller has multiple intelligent protections against reverse polarity, over charge, short-circuit, reverse current, overload, and over discharge, keeping your battery fully protected. Support Multiple Battery Types: The Voyager controller can automatically sense 12V or 24V system voltage when paired with a Gel, AGM, or Flooded batteries. It also comes with a Lithium activation feature. Backlit LCD displaying system: The Voyager comes with an LCD display showing accurate and timely information including charging current, generated energy, temperature, battery voltage, and error codes that allows users to monitor and control charging.

No RFI issues so far

I haven't had this long enough to give a thorough review but I'd like to report that I haven't had any RFI issues so far. After some backyard testing and nearly 48 hours of ARRL field day at 80-15 meters, no radio interference was detected from the charge controller. It's FCC certified on the manufacturer's website, although it doesn't say what it's for. It is most likely Part 15 Class B as listed on some of their other products and is what you should look for in any equipment used with radios.

Very poor support, best in Energy Controllers

Bought Jan 6th stopped working on March 7th. Sent to Renogy for evaluation same week. I had to call them to get the results of the evaluation. They said defective and sent another one. It lasted less than a month. sent back. It arrived on May 5th and I haven't heard from them, it is now May 28th. I know things are slow due to the pandemic but that seems a bit of an exaggeration. Working day: solar and wind power

Connected and tested on Saturday. Connected the solar panel for a few hours. On Tuesday I went to see how much the battery was being drained from having the panel connected to the battery during my days off, only to find the screen was blank. Checked, I had 12.5v on the controller battery screws. This is consistent with other reviews so this seems like a big issue. Cheap design suitable for solar and wind power

This definitely seems like a cheap design. This is the second time in a month that the display has stopped and the output has switched to AC. Two points to solve: 1) The main chip that controls the display is burned out or something like that. The display ends and no data is displayed. This happened after 2 days of using the first and 4 weeks of using the second. Works great easy to install easy to use

I bought this for my sailboat and chose this particular model because it will be installed in a place where it can get wet. I connected it to a 24 volt system (2 12 volt deep cycle batteries in series + 2 12 volt solar panels in series. The unit automatically recognized 24 volts and started charging immediately. Failed a day later, Renogy sent a replacement

UPDATE: After reading this initial review, Renogy contacted me and sent a replacement. This new block works fine. For this reason I have changed my rating to 4 stars (originally 1 star). Renogy seems to stand behind their product, it just took a little effort. The Renogy Voyager 20A charge controller was very easy to install. This one actually works as advertised

I've tried several solar charge controllers and they didn't live up to expectations. I use a 12V electric fence charger with a lead-acid battery (small tractor). My calculations showed that even in average sunlight for my area, my 20W solar panel should keep the battery charged, but I ended up having to bring the battery to charge at least twice a week to keep it charged. then I switch to this charge controller.
