Perfect for my suburb 04. Sounds a lot better than my old starter, much quieter. Bought Amazon's 3-year protection plan based on other reviews as a precaution. Didn't know this but it should come with 2 new screws, I only have 1. Will update if it breaks.

My starter failed on Saturday morning. Since we only had one car, it was important to get it back on the road. I checked with my local parts store and they had one, but it was almost $200. So I searched the internet and found this one for about a quarter of the price. Ordered and received around 1pm on Sunday. A few hours later my car was back on the road. Works as well if not better than $200 I'm sure. I'm a happy customer!

UPDATE 09/23/19 still 100% working 03 Avalanche 1500 5.3 Subtle design differences. The OEM has 11 teeth, this one has 9, but the attachment points are the same and it fits great. The OEM engine is much larger and more powerful. Personally, I don't mind that it's a bit smaller because it took 2 or 3 of us to pull the standard out and just wiggle it. The smaller size should make this much easier. Might not last 15 years, but that's $50 versus $200
