Description of 🎣 Nature Wood Spool Station by Riverruns: Handcrafted Fly Tying Thread Spool Stand for Traveling

Riverruns easy shipping thread spool stand 120 spools capacity. Main body is made of premium natural beech wood in smooth finish. It is very sturdy for holding 120 spools. It has 6 layers with 10 stainless steel dowels on each layer. The dowels are 2.2 inch(5.5cm) tall enough to hold 2 spools, conveniently organizing 120 spools in a small neat space. The stainless steel dowels will never break like other spool holder with wooden dowels. The center distance of two dowels is 1.2 inch(3cm), easy to take out or return spools to the stand. The legs of thread spool stand are foldable. So it can be used to stand on the table or hung it on the wall after folding the legs. Great advantage is compact size easy shipping, 11.6*8.2*3.8inch( 29*20.5*9.5cm).

Ideal for storing spools of thread.

I bought this to hold spools of yarn when knitting a doily that changes color. It worked great. However, if the other half thinks it's just for fly tying. guess again It's beautifully made. However, a little force is required to insert the dowels into the holes. I love it!

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • There are some nuances

Will not hold spools of thread

Will NOT hold full size spools of thread next to each other. You have to fill every second hole. Then the next row is too narrow to accommodate the coils, even if they make every other hole. At best, it can accommodate coils. I've already screwed the pins into the holes so I can't return these things. The next stop for him is Goodwill. What garbage!

Desktop thread holder, almost perfect!

I have a very nice fly tying room with a small but more than adequate fly tying table. I like to have my materials handy, and one of my issues has been spools of thread and other materials in bobbins that are convenient for a long knitting session. This idler station was the closest I could find, but still too big. I now cut it in half so I have up to 8 spools ready when I need them. Quality and price are perfect, otherwise I am very satisfied.

Perfect for holding fly tying lines!

Perfect for tying flies on spools! I managed to hold all the thread I bought that doesn't fit on my knitting table. I use a lap table so the smaller size fits snugly and doesn't take up much space. Holds larger spools as shown in the image above left on the spool stand and smaller spools. You have to assemble and you need a hammer, but it's easy to do. The dowels don't seem to fit, but they do. They send extra dowels in case you break them. The height of the dowels is only enough for 1 spool…

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for older people

Fits Only Gutterman Mara 100 Spools of Thread

Benefits: Width between spindles just fits (no extra space) for Gutterman Mara 100 spools of thread and does not require wall hanging. It will fit in a dresser drawer at least 5" deep. Cons: It's not particularly well made. The long bolts that hold everything together weren't machined consistently, so some of them were a bit thicker than others so some of them didn't go through the holders. Or maybe the holes weren't drilled to the tolerances of the bolts. Wing nuts are cheap and can be removed

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Big and Bulky
