I've done my best to make it work. I've fixed a lot of razor blades, but this guy, while built to last, just isn't built right. Other reviews are pretty accurate, thought I was the exception. nope It seems to work, but the angle of the blade at the base is wrong. I have time to write it down, but it's a lot of time. The steel is high quality and thick, good luck sharpening at the right angle. nope

This is my first round bottom razor so I can only compare it to the flat bottom wire razors I'm familiar with. On arrival I did the default setting which involves leveling the back of the blade and sharpening with progressive stones to a 6000 grit water stone. I also smoothed the finish of the base and waxed it so it slides smoothly over the wood and rusts Not. Round bottom shaves like this are a real problem no matter who makes them. I've used some Veritas brands and they will dangle slightly too (it's a lot nicer than this 5x more expensive tool). The real key to any of these is setting it to a very light shave. All the typical things apply (razor sharp blade, flat spine, smooth blade sole and base, good metal contact) but it takes a little time and patience to get this tool working smoothly. If I paid $100 for this razor I would give it only four stars or maybe three and a half stars depending on value for money. But for a quarter, it's a great tool! After reading the negative reviews here and on other sites I came to the conclusion that I need to tweak and maybe even change a lot to make it useful.
