Seems to be a good tester but only charges outside the car

I had another tester that said a good battery is bad. Until this happened. He checked the battery as good. I like having something fixed (although I don't need it yet) and testing the battery and charging system. But I also thought it would do what other chargers do, charge in the car and keep charging. If that's done, I don't know how. Every time I try to charge the battery it says to disconnect it from the car first. Well, I don't always want to do that. I have other chargers and helpers so…

  • Handy thing

Finally a true all-in-one device.

I used to have a separate charger and tester, so I had to take both with me if I had to. The charger is limited to 5A, but that's all you need before you start removing the covers and venting the cells anyway. This device really is better than most others on the market. Here's why I really like it: - Finally a charger that shows the actual charging current. Most devices simply show the setting you have set (even if they have a display) - Multifunctional display, bright and easy to read - Can…

I got my dead battery back. A little. A few hours until the trip :).

So I took this to test and see if I can get my old car's dead battery back that hasn't been driven in about 3 years. Setting up this charger was very easy, just plug the cables into the appropriate battery terminals and the power cord into a 110v socket from below. The home screen will light up and remind you to remove the battery before you press the REPAIR hotkey, the big yellow button in the middle of the keyboard. Below this key are the UP/DOWN arrow keys, ESC and Enter keys. Very intuitive

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No power

Just don't buy it in chargers

Thing doesn't even charge the lawnmower battery, it writes a bad connection error on the very thing you plug it into. This charger should cost $30, not $80.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Not bad

Exactly what I was looking for.

So far I like the device. It provides good detailed information about the battery status. This is similar to the more expensive devices I've used. Time will tell if it's reliable.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Repair

An entry level 12V battery tester.

I do not use this device for charging, only for advanced battery testing functions. Charging 12 volt batteries is entrusted to a smart battery charger with Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, to get a true all-in-one with the same advanced testing and charging capabilities, you have to shell out a few hundred dollars for a professional-grade device. Most traditional portable chargers don't even have an LCD screen, usually just a couple of confirmation LEDs to indicate basic functions. This device offers…

Battery problem solved! Jesus Chargers!

So, with a lot of big toys I have a lot of batteries that most don't use up until I go and use the car/toy/boat etc. So needless to say I've been keeping Diehard in business for probably the last 5 years! Finally, while I'm tired of removing and replacing batteries, especially since they haven't gotten that damn expensive! I just replaced 6 batteries in my van for about 1000. I removed the batteries using large 12 volt batteries that were about 3 years old. They were to live for at least a…

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
