Perfect electrical upgrade

I installed these on my Key West 1720. Huge night vision upgrade. And they're simple plug-and-play replacements for the originals.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • boring packaging

I checked the brightness, it's super bright.

The back panel isn't fully plugged in so it won't work for my purposes. To install this device, you need to make a sufficient deepening. I checked the brightness, it's super bright.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Incredibly bright taillight

Started replacing the lights on my 1989 Cruiser. I installed this rear navigation light and am amazed at how bright it is. I think it advertises 3 miles visibility, I can believe it. That's great!

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Interval

Inexpensive on a boat

The required hole is elongated, not round, so assembly is more complex than just using a hole saw. You have extra polishing. A template would be helpful but not mandatory. They're bright, but the light has a bluish cast that's characteristic of older LEDs.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • I don't like it that much, everything is fine

Good rear light for such a price

I've seen several reviews mentioning moisture under the lens. The problem is that the flashlight and the cover/lens don't match. Easy repair before installation: remove the lantern from the cover, apply a thin coat of 4200 to the inner seal, replace the lantern, clamp very lightly and allow to cure for 24 hours. The light is bright and clearly visible from 3 nautical miles. If it lasts 3 years then it's worth the money. Installation was fairly easy, although I had to cut the crossbar to make…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Requires an oversized hole

My previous taillight only required drilling a small (1/4 inch) hole in the transom, just enough for two wires to pass through, then screwing the light in. This light accurately states that it is "flush," but that's not a positive thing, as its installation requires drilling a large hole (with a drill - plus lots of silicone for caulking). Do real boatswains ever design anything like this? Who needs a hole that big just above the waterline? I decided to return this unit and instead simply…

  • Impressive
Cons
  • Reliability

Super Cool Super Bright

We have a 2004 Rinker 342 and over the years I have twice replaced the rear taillight with a traditional two pin marine lamp from our well known marine store. My light was dimmed again. This time I decided to replace the old lamp and housing with new technology. This LED light is AMAZING. It was an almost exact replacement (body to body). I only had to cut and splice 2 wires to install this new one. Oddly, the screw holes on the new LED frame were about 1/32" of the existing (original holes)…

Pros
  • Good Cause

  • Fits
