Not on watercolor paper.

I love Schmincke more than anything! Their quality is second to none. But dots are not on watercolor paper. I'm surprised and disappointed. Daniel Smith's scatter plot is made of watercolor paper, which is very convenient.

Try Schmincke Watercolors cheaply

Schmincke Watercolors are hard to find in stores across Nashville, so this is a great way to learn about Schmincke Horadam Watercolors and decide which colors are right for your watercolor collection.

Cons
  • Requires a point of sale

Ideal for checking color before purchase

I am a watercolor pigment addict. I love looking for colors I don't already have (like I need them!). Cards with dots are great for displaying a manufacturer's range. Schmincke's dotmap gives you enough pigment to color a good sample map in addition to the dotmap itself. Point cards are worth the time and money to try before you buy, especially since the Schmincke Horadam is quite expensive in the US.

Cons
  • Working speed

Inexpensive way to try colors

I watch a lot of videos about watercolor mediums and techniques. Many artists, like Schminke and I, wanted to try them without buying an expensive kit. If I prefer to create my own palette, this chart will help me determine the colors I need. The folded 8.25" x 11.75" card has a page of parchment between them to prevent wet colors from mixing together. I especially like the silver and gold colors. They have a wonderful shine.

Beautiful colors and a great way to try them all.

If you're unsure about Schmincke colors, this is a great place to try them. Personally, they lacked a bit of liveliness; Colors don't "pop" like other brands I've tried. But I think that maybe if you build them up in layers and glaze them, you could get great results. To be honest, it doesn't bother me that they don't have this effect, as I prefer muted colors and earthy tones. However, the best thing about her choice for me is the sheer amount of individual pigments - it was really nice to…

Great Quality Art, Painting & Craft Supplies

I'm so thankful that this brand finally released a scatter chart so you can explore all the colors they have to offer. I've been working on these two sheets (nearly half). Enough color to create a separate table of swatches for each color, and enough more to create multiple palette charts. I really like how smooth these colors go (feel like the pigments and binder are more finely ground than other brands). I was surprised at how many colors were grainy (I expected less), the range of blues is…
