They are industry standard and serve their intended purpose. High speeds can cause cheap imitations to self-destruct and shards to splatter in all directions. I don't use them for machining aluminum engine parts with machine finishes.

We love using these wipes to clean large flange/silicone gasket surfaces like differentials, axle cases and other heavy steel surfaces. I'd be wary of the aluminum type as it's aggressive, but it will work if you're not an idiot with your grinder.

Haven't used it yet but would give this product 5 stars knowing the performance of the 3M Maroon 2 inch disc. If you use this line of products you know this is a great product and deserves a 5 star rating. Didn't realize I ordered the 3" until I opened the box, I guess now I need to place an order for the correct back! Oops!

I have been using Scotch Brite Roloc discs on my straight grinder for many years now. Polishing and cleaning is much easier. After the move, there is no warehouse for finished goods near me. I was happy to see the discs offered by Revain. Scotch Brite pads are superior to counterfeits. I use maroon, blue, and silver in sizes 2" and 3". I also use arbor mount pads so I can get into cracks and tight spaces. Whether you are removing oxidation or just polishing, the job becomes easier.

I like Scotch Brite wheels, but I've never been a big fan of their durability (or lack thereof). When used with a small, high-speed tool (which is what they were designed for), they do an excellent job of cleaning the surface, but at the cost of a very short lifespan. The high speed seems to break or melt the abrasive "wave" fairly quickly, but if you know what's going on (like me) then buying a big box makes sense.
