Splashes water everywhere

I have used many shark bite tools and redesigned my whole house with PEX. However, these sliding fittings do not work. They spray water everywhere as soon as the pressure in the pipes becomes normal. They were installed correctly and each fitting did the same. I removed them and reconnected my pipe as it wasn't worth the risk of one of them bursting and flooding my house.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Functionality

Easy to install

Much easier to install than soldering. I made sure to clean the ends of the pipe and sand them smooth. The valve fits and does not leak. It's been about a month now. This is definitely the way to go if you are new to pipe soldering. You need to have some slack with the tube as the two ends need to be pushed about an inch further than the 3 inch gap to fit the tube into the end of the valve. I had enough wobble so it worked fine.

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • Don't really like it, everything is fine

Fast, easy, efficient.

Love it. This is the second time I've used Sharkbite products to easily fix an otherwise expensive plumbing job. My plumber charged me almost $500 to replace a leaking rotary valve on the line that feeds my water heater. Thanks to this valve I did it myself at a fraction of the cost and the whole job took about 3 minutes. I would recommend this product to everyone. Make sure you have a depth gauge/deburring tool as you will need to clean the pipe ends before reattaching.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • No instructions

Damaged goods? Or false advertising.

I bought this item to replace my main shut off valve in the house after watching some videos. The installation seemed like a simple do-it-yourself project. However, I was unable to move the valve to my depth mark to ensure a perfect seal, even after purchasing removable pliers. The valve was sticking and leaking badly. I ended up being forced to hire a plumber at an extremely high price to replace this new valve. The project ended up costing me more than double what I would have originally paid

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Expensive

These fixtures are a game changer

If you had told me a few weeks ago that the main plumbing in my house had failed and needed replacing I would have been upset. If you told me I would replace it myself, I'd say you're crazy. But today in less than an hour I cut out the old gate valve on the side entry of my house and installed a new Sharkbite 3/4" ball valve with no problem. House but other than pulling out/installing a toilet or changing a faucet, plumbing is NOT my thing. However, with these new plug-in fittings fromโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Doping ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
