Easy to put on and take off

As this is my first set of clipless pedals I needed a pair that was easy to put on and take off. These pedals fit the bill and for the price they definitely fit the bill. I put them on my MTB and after some tweaking, my efficiency increased significantly. You should get them when you first learn to work without clamps.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Great Pedals: Sport

For my new bike; I use these "mountain" pedals on all my bikes, whether road, motocross or off-road. They have delivered great results in all weather conditions and I love that my cleats pedal quickly from the top and bottom. Both are the same. I prefer Shimano's SH56 cleats because they release in all directions - they're more secure than the single-release SH51 cleats in my opinion.

  • Great Price
Cons

Great for my road bike and my peloton

These pedals are perfect for my road bike and I bought a pair for my peloton. With no noise or squeaks, snaps quickly and easily into place and easily breaks out. It took about five minutes to install and I've been using it in the Peloton for a few months now. Definitely an improvement as it allows me to use my street boots as I wasn't a fan of the cleats or shoes they offered. Definitely recommend.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Great pedals, great price.

Great pedals. There's no reason to spend more if you're not a high-profile competitor. I've upgraded from some old Shimano pedals and very old Coda SPD pedals and I'm glad I did. Thanks to their minimalist profile, they are much easier to secure. The release is a lot firmer than I'm used to as mine were old and quite worn but a quick adjustment to ease the tension and I was in my comfort zone within minutes. Highly recommended, looking forward to many kilometers with it.

The reusable SH-56 spikes are easy to use!

As a new rider, I wanted to switch from running shoes and "simple" pedals to a cleated system. After watching numerous YouTube videos and reviews, I ordered a set of Shimano SH-56 SPD cleats and Shimano PD-M520L clipless 9/16 inch bike pedals. plus a pair of Shimano shoes that you can put spikes in. The local bike shop installed everything for $10. It was easy to put on and take off the first time. Just make sure the pedals are set for low effort. Great system that gives the bike more…

Fantastic pedals and cleats Pedals

This design works very well. I like the SPD shoes because my Trek 520 is easy to walk on tours and commutes. I restored my 1990 Cannondale Black Lightning which went black and replaced some vintage look 1990 Carbon Pros. The looks are great but these spikes are hard to step on and on gravel they really screw up. These pedals work as well as they look, but I have SPD shoes and they really are that much better for cycling. There are different levels of this design. This one weighs a little more…

Broke after 1 month at Peloton

I have Peloton, my wife only had boots with SPD cleats, no road cleats. These were purchases so we could split the bike easily as we both had SPD shoes. Considering this is an exercise bike it has no effect on the pedals so I am very disappointed that in less than a month the seal on one pedal went bad and the pedal started clicking like crazy. I've also started noticing oil leaks on the other. In total, we rode the pedals for about 200 miles, maybe a little more, before they started to…

  • Definitely bad product

Great pedals suitable for cycling

I love these pedals once I realized they are very easy to use. I'm an idiot and I've been trying to zip up my shoes for days but they just wouldn't fit. I watched a few videos and read reviews that said inserting a clip was "as easy as can be," but that wasn't my experience. Eventually, I realized I had installed the spikes incorrectly, so I flipped them over and they snapped easily into place. I wish the spike application instructions were more specific as the video showed black spikes on a…

Don't trust the seller to get you the right product.

First review I ever wrote because the whole experience was terrible. I'm not sure who this "SHIMANO BIKE" salesman is, but it's obvious that they have very low standards of customer service. Could this now be an error on the part of the Amazon warehouse? But I don't usually have such problems with Amazon products. Last week I ordered white Shimano SPD pedals for $10 more than black or silver. The package arrived quickly via Prime in a bag with a barcode and product name stating the color was…
