Product not tested

Upon receipt my wife informed me that CR had written an article in their June issue. I read that after 2 different tests the "Slime" repair kit did not fill and did not hold a 5.8mm puncture. It worked with a puncture of 2.4 mm. That didn't satisfy me, so I went back and ordered the recommended ResQ Pro+, which sealed the 5.8mm hole in testing. Worth the extra money for something that actually works. I'm sure ResQ Pro+ has its own problems. Gave 2 stars for the small 2.4mm puncture hole.

Beware of digital models on some new cars!

Warning: on some new cars (e.g. two of my BMWs) don't buy a digital model of the sensor. I'm not sure what's causing the problem (maybe the built in tire pressure sensors?) but the digital model is wildly inaccurate and the numbers just jump everywhere, from 0 to 100psi. I returned this one, went to my local auto parts store and tried another of the same model. Same problem. I took it back to the store and bought a regular analog sensor model and it works great.

It just doesn't work.

Used for the first time and just doesn't work. There is nothing in the hose that puts pressure on the valve. So when you attach it and turn on the compressor, the pressure rises, the bottle expands, and the sealant oozes out everywhere. Some sealant got into the tire but it was almost gone and the tire was not inflated. It seems that the design of the hose is not suitable for use. Had high hopes but wouldn't buy again, just leaves you stranded. (* I definitely followed the instructions exactly.

This is what you need when your new car's inflator has expired.

Received this to replace a kit on my Ford Focus when the warning light on the dash went out. I'm pretty sure it was made by the same company that hired Ford to build it, many other companies use the same set like Ford, Dodge and BMW to name a few. Don't get me wrong, there are differences, but they share the same basic mechanics and overall design. Ford wanted $60. For just one refill, shy away from about the same, I've seen BMW refills for over $100. This kit is all you need. BTW as said they…

Screw design could be better.

IMPORTANT: This unit comes with a 'valve depressor' adapter (which also fits the bus - why?!?!) designed to be used with other adapters on the back of the unit is . REMOVE IT or the pressure will be high and it won't work properly as several people have reported! Once you clear that hurdle, the compressor is fine. A screw design rather than a traditional clamp is a poor choice and will mean about 4psi of leakage if you remove it. So inflate about 5psi higher than you need and use a separate…

Bad bad flat holder

Luckily (or not) I had to use this flat holder for a small nail that broke through the tread before the return deadline. I just purchased this item and decided now is the time to test it out instead of calling a tow truck. I followed the directions to the "T" and the valve didn't quite fit the tire valve. I finally managed to tighten the PLASTIC connector and turn on Slime. It will not inflate the tire. Instead, the slime bottle in the repair kit began to bulge and she opened the block. (See…

Worked fine; Wife Couldn't Turn Valve

My wife tried to use it and couldn't turn the handle to pierce the sealant cartridge. When I got to the scene of the crime, it took me some strength to turn the dial to make it work. The screw on the stem connector is also poorly designed. I played this thing for what felt like an eternity until finally a strong connection was made. After that it was child's play. The gauge initially bounced all over the place until there was about 20 pounds of air in the tire. Unplugging the plugs deflated the

For emergencies only

I was expecting to be able to use it regularly as an air compressor, in addition to being able to do road rescues in slime mode. The pump is powerful and fast, the pressure readings are useful, and the controls are easy. It is very convenient to store all the cables and hoses. But the connector at the end of the air tube is a soft plastic that you screw onto a metal tire valve stem. It lets air through when you screw it on and when you take it off, so it's difficult to remove without losing…

Effective emergency tool

This is a review: Slime 50123 Flat Tire Repair Kit (Digital) Overall product got 4 stars. I don't understand the stretch category: 5 stars. I am assuming this refers to the hose which I did not rate Slime 5 stars as after using the kit my husband kept the man whose tire was fixed in case he needed the pump again. So I don't know how the pump has held up and if it has maintained the same pressure reliability for future needs. I also have no information on the tire repair process or how it worked
