Wooden Spice Mill: Kitchen Helpers & Gadgets

It's very well made, looks sharp, is a bit difficult to turn but we just have to adjust it. My husband has no problem turning. When not in use, it won't spill out of the bottom like most other pepper mills. We love how unusual this is for your ordinary pepper mill. Very happy with it. Arrived well and on time.

  • Best in its niche

Simple but elegant, works well.

A very nice piece of wood. Doesn't fit much but works very well and you can't beat the simple yet elegant style, goes well with any dining room. My only issue is that I thought I could adjust to make the pepper flakes bigger, adjustment just makes more come out at once, but the flakes are still small. All in all a very good grinder. Easy to use, easy to refill.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Disappear

Best and most durable

I have bought several different pepper grinders in the past and they almost always break after a few uses. When I saw this pepper mill I was intrigued by the design so I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. Not only was this user-friendly; I like the fact that it has two functions, coarse and fine grinding. I would recommend this pepper mill to anyone looking for a pepper mill.

Pros
  • Well made
Cons
  • Expensive

Mine may be broken but it's falling apart a lot

I don't know if mine is broken but I can't pick it up by the handle because it's falling off. It's annoying because the handle is a big circle that you grab! I love having a pepper mill, but the one that requires a special grip is annoying. I grabbed the handle and had to pick it up a few times, so I avoid it. Writing this review makes me angry.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • A few little things

The filling mechanism is defective.

This was my favorite pepper grinder (easy to use, good grind, nice looks) until it was time to refill it. The top failed due to a bad gluing mechanism and couldn't be reattached (I wouldn't reglue for food safety reasons). I found other negative reviews on here with the same complaint. But maybe it's time to buy a new pepper mill. The old one was cheap and worked like clockwork for 10 months.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Almost never

Great when I fixed it

Looks great and after I fixed it was easy to use and works well. The problem is that it wasn't assembled properly and it took me a couple of months to figure it out. The sanding element was supposed to stay firmly in place and not fall out, but I had the mount attached prior to assembly and didn't keep it inside. If it doesn't work for you, take a closer look. It was a little tricky to fix, but once I've done it I'm happy with this thing.

Pros
  • Quick replacement
Cons
  • Fits

Surprised how well it works!

We've seen a lot of pepper mills - the ones with a rotating handle, they just come loose and break sooner or later - battery operated, die too quickly and don't grind as well - pre-filled ones where you just twist the cap , there is not enough adjustment and pieces come out, this is not grinding. I recently found reviews of coffee grinders in Cook's Illustrated that a "good/great" grinder costs $35+! Then I saw this at Revain - for those of you who love freshly ground pepper this is a purchase…

Pros
  • Many fit
Cons
  • Some difficulties

The filling mechanism is defective.

This was my favorite pepper grinder (easy to use, finely ground, nice looking) until it was time to fill it up. The top part failed due to a bad gluing mechanism and couldn't be put back on (I wouldn't re-glue for food safety reasons). I found other negative reviews on here with the same complaint. But maybe it's time to buy a new pepper mill. The old one was cheap and worked like clockwork for 10 months.

Pros
  • Perfect for pepper, raw salt, cumin and other spices
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Small but powerful

This pepper mill does the job perfectly, grinding pepper finer than any other I've ever used. I bought these to replace a ratchet sander that broke after just a few months of use. I read reviews that said this one was small but was still surprised when it arrived. It's really not enough. It would be easy to store in a closet, which is not the case with most pepper mills. I thought I would stock it up all the time because I use a lot of pepper. I've found this grinder to be so much more…

Pros
  • Natural 7-1/2 inch wooden pepper grinder, black walnut finish
Cons
  • Other interesting options are available.

Surprised how well it works!

We've tried a lot of pepper grinders - the ones with a twist knob just work loose and eventually break - the battery operated ones die too quickly and don't grind well - pre-filled where you just turn the lid, not enough adjustment and chunks come out, it doesn't grind. I recently found reviews of coffee grinders in Cook's Illustrated that a "good/great" grinder costs $35+! Then I saw this at Revain - for those of you who love freshly ground pepper this is a purchase you won't regret…

Pros
  • Fully adjustable. Turn the bottom knob to grind spices from fine to coarse
Cons
  • Can't remember
