Excellent pads. I bought 2 kits to paint the truck in one day. I also bought a lambswool rug from Porter's Cable. The yellow pad cuts really well with compound. I used my Griot's G9 RO Polisher which is really powerful and didn't burn a single pad. I used my air compressor to blow out the old compound and polish each panel I was working on. Used 2 yellow, 1 blue and 2 black plus wool on all my F250. For a 3 step correction (mass, polish and wax) it took about 4 hours.

Used in the right order, they are actually very good. It would be very helpful if advertised pad aggressiveness was accurate. Here's what I found. From the hardest to the softest. Yellow, blue, orange, black and finally white. After struggling with holograms and swirls for too long I settled on the pad based on personal feel and the end product was great. Only 4 stars because of false advertising and wasted hours trying to get a good result.

I am a qualified car mechanic. I love these pillows. They spread the paste or polish you use almost perfectly. The design is impeccable, the little cubes are so well carved that I cannot recommend them! Ideal for correcting or just polishing. I drop them off near Lake County and Griots sites every day. They are also very cheap. They're also easier to clean than any pads I've used. Spritz on some detergent and a powerful air gun will clean them with ease. 10/5 stars.

I'm a 3m certified auto repair technician. I replaced my standard pads with these as many people have been very happy with them. I bought these for low speed buffing and this happened after 10 minutes of use. I love the cross pattern on the pad, it helps with application. I contacted the company and it was crickets. Now I can say that I will try again, but such a failure is very disappointing. I stopped using pads immediately and switched to my spare pads which are more expensive but don't melt

Like my experience with other parts conditioning products there is a reason they are so cheap. They are of terrible quality. I started polishing my new car from the hood up. Before I got to ONE THIRD of the hood through the first pass, I noticed colored deposits on the hood. It took me a moment to connect the paint to the pad. Buyer notice: I obviously didn't do that. I bought these pads based on Revain's advertisement along with my B&D orbital wax and Mcguiar restoration kit. Ignore the bad reviews of this Blowing Apart thing. The ONLY way these things can blow themselves up is by running them at a ridiculous speed like 5000 rpm where they spin freely in the air and not push against the vehicle. I have a much older Makita buffer that I inherited and it has a variable speed selector from 1 to 6 and it tells you each speed is about "X" RPM. I have a feeling that all of these people who are having issues are people who are going through these things on a body grinder…

. The oxidation is so bad it looks like sandpaper. I use Meguiar's 105, 110 and Flag Ship Wax. The 110 stays wet longer, but both the 105 and 110 perform about the same. These pads can run for a long time without cleaning and can withstand the high pressure needed to overcome the oxidation I'm struggling with. but they stay together.
