I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. I was expecting something heavy and thick, but no. It's light and fits in my hands. I usually find it difficult to work with conventional rolling pins because they are so bulky. This thing is slim and light and obviously easy to use. I like that it doesn't bang and is just more hygienic. I could buy a big one.

I wanted a French style rolling pin just because I liked that it looked better than regular rolling pins. Then I found this metal and I was very happy. It's a good weight, which is great, but I also like that I can wash it thoroughly without worrying about how the water will affect the wood. Of course, like any rolling pin, it serves its purpose. I got this rolling pin after reading many reviews. I'm happy to say it's great. The surface is smooth and when used like a regular wooden rolling pin, nothing sticks to it. I used to roll out pasta dough and had no problem with the dough sticking to the rolling pin. I tried breaking the ice with the spike end and it works as advertised. Hand washed so far, no rust. I didn't put it in the dishwasher so no comment on that. Overall I would recommend it to anyone looking for a rolling pin.

I use this pizza crust rolling pin, it works great as a traditional rolling pin but has other great features too. I can't measure but if you can measure there is a criterion engraved on the side.
