Ok, it works and the single cable VGA/USB connections are fine. BUT. The device does not transmit monitor information to connected PCs, so the PCs cannot determine which resolutions are supported. The KVM switch pretends to be a monitor and you can only use resolutions from its programmed list. They are selected via the hotkey menu. I just received this. It works as expected. It switches between computers well and I had no trouble getting the keyboard and mouse to work. However, the initial joy of having a working KVM again was marred today when I realized I was typing too fast for it. At a more normal speed, it still can't capture all of my characters. Issues: 1) Requires special Star Tech cables which are not included. My existing KVM cables were not working. 2) My gaming mouse didn't work over this KVM but it did over the $60 IOGEAR KVM. 3) I got a BSOD when one of my computers was connected to this KVM for the first time. Map settings and resolution have been greatly reduced. I spent an hour reinstalling the drivers but it never worked.

Does pretty much everything you expect. Allows one keyboard, one mouse and one monitor to be used between 8 computers. I like how they designed it as there is only ONE VGA cable going from the back of the KVM device to each computer. On the computer side, the same cable ends with a USB and a VGA connector. Absolute crap. Perfect proof that you get what you pay for. We ordered one, it died the day we installed it, worked for about 20 minutes and then blew out. I sent it back, replaced it with the same one, put it in, and initially it worked. Unfortunately it's hosted so we're never there. Today was the first day I tried using it after the initial install and again it was completely dead and unusable. Only now we're past the return window, leaving us with a $300 piece of junk. Do not buy.
