I bought this STROMBERG CARLSON PRODUCT - TR-1 tire carrier in 2018. Coming home from a hike today, I noticed the spare tire was loose. Upon inspection, the steel through which the bottom bolt goes broke in half. Thank goodness the other part of the trunk survived, otherwise the spare wheel would have come off while driving. I mounted it on a 4x4 bumper at the back of my fifth wheel. They are very stable, which is why I give them 2 stars instead of 1. My problem is that the vertical is too short for a 225/75/15 tire. The bottom of the tire is flush with the bottom of the bumper.
