Excellent surface prep discs

I use these on my car restoration projects and I really like them. The price is competitive for the consumable. I prefer to use medium or finer as coarse abrasives are really abrasive and will remove a decent amount of metal.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Rough fleece surface coating

I usually use 3m Roloc discs and decided to give it a try. They work well but by comparison they don't last as long as 3m to remove the seal. I'd say when they go on sale you're welcome to buy them for over 3 million, if the difference is just a few dollars then I'm leaning towards the 3 million mark.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

Pretty rough for the "Fine " class.

They are well made and better than super cheap imitations. However, even the fine grit is quite coarse and seems more suited to removing heavy paint and corrosion than more delicate jobs like removing gaskets from steel or aluminum engine components. I'm sure I'll use them for something else one day. However, I think I'll stick with 3M for most of my needs.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Hard to tell

More stable than expected

Simply great for the price. However, they are somewhat stiff and do not perform as well as the port freight equivalents. The discs are much harder and more like a grinding wheel than a dish sponge. This makes them a bit more durable, but they're not as good for working in tight spaces or buffing uneven surfaces. They also seem to hold together quicker than those in port freight. Overall, I will keep them and use them when needed, but will not buy them again.

Pros
  • Very good price-performance ratio

Don't believe the hype

I build steel guitars and work with a lot of aluminum that needs to be surface treated before being polished to a mirror finish. The first one I tried was a complete failure as the abrasive peeled off like there was no tomorrow and it was on aluminum! I seriously doubt I'll get a few minutes of use. This proves you get what you pay for as branded discs can be used on many items before giving up the ghost. To add insult to injury, it took two weeks to get it so not worth the wait. I've never…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

save your money fits quick change discs

I know 3M (Scotch), VSM, Klingspor or maybe other well known brands will do. I am particularly disappointed with the "Roloc" grinding wheels. I keep hoping to find a better price from another brand and I keep finding things I already knew... Paying 3x for 10x. Don't skimp, you're wasting your money. Buy good ones and treat them well as an investment and you will be satisfied. With that in mind, let me digress: I bought a battery-powered Milwaukee M12 grinder to supplement my compressed air when
