Cheap alternative to OEM

Problem solved. Much cheaper alternative than using Toyota OEM. Fast replacement. Much easier than I thought. Just make sure to lubricate the moving parts when you're done. We thought we did something wrong as it took a lot of strength to open it. Spraying everything was a brilliant idea and now it opens up easily.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Cheap bar, but it works!

A great price of course and the new latch should have taken about half an hour to fit but one of the plastic parts of the new latch was broken so I had to remove parts from the old latch to get the new one working . It's basically a cheap bar, cheaply made, but now it works and saved me about $250. Use Utube videos to help with installation.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Fits my 2010 Tundra, design could be better.

I think this product is worth the price. It's not expensive but I don't know how long it will last. It works. My original pen lasted 11 years, hopefully this one will too. The overall design surprises with plastic details. I also drilled a hole for the camera. As this is an older camera it will not fit in the molded grips that are made today.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Installs in 10 minutes (EASY)

I have a 2008 Tundra (no backup camera) and it took 5-10 minutes to remove the old latch and install the new one. The latch works great but is PLASTIC like the original parts and presumably the seller has a 12 month warranty which makes this option MUCH better than the dealer original parts in my opinion. Before installing, I recommend applying carburetor cleaner and then white lithium grease to the moving springs on either side of the tailgate. This latch is not designed to withstand shock, so

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Strong grip, does its job

Perfect fit for our 2010 Tundra. Easy installation with no problems. I really wish they would stop using plastic parts for items that will be exposed to the weather for long periods of time, but they all seem to be mostly plastic. After installation, the handle sticks a little, although mechanical lubricant is applied to the moving parts. You have to pull hard to open the tailgate. I have a feeling I'm going to break him in the process. Let's see how long he lasts. I watched a video online on…

watch clip! on outside door handles

The engineer who designed this part at Toyota should retire. He brought great shame on himself and his ancestors. The bearing part lasted 8 years. I got a replacement TA here at Revain and it lasted 2 years. Just installed these today. Installation is simple - remove the panel in the gate, unscrew the old one, rearrange the lock, snap the door handles into place. The clips on this replacement are made of hard plastic. Installed and checked, one of the clips shattered. Hm. It's okay, it looks…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • No power

Best I've found

I've owned my third tailgate handle in just over a year (Rock Warrior 2011). This stylus weighs noticeably more than the previous one I bought from Revain and I expect it to be as good as the stock OEM stylus (which also broke). Do yourself a favour: Grease ALL moving parts when disassembling the tailgate for installation. Previous handles only opened by holding the handle far to the left (despite lubricating all the above parts) and worked best with light pressure on the tailgate itself. It…
