Not for the faint of heart. Very cheap and looks good.

I have an Asus computer with 32 CDs. This is an i5 6400. The motherboard is LGA 1151. I have removed both sides of the case. On the side that I had to insert into the mount was a solid metal sheet. Oh boy. So I removed all the screws from the logic board and then lifted the logic board high enough to put a piece of metal under the logic board. Another problem is that the power plug has 3 pins instead of 4 like the original. So what does that mean? The fourth pin is for the temperature sensor…

Great budget cooler

I have bought 3 of these from Revain over the past few years and each has served me better than I thought and always seem to be just what I need when I need them. . The first two came in off the shelf office style PCs which were laden with dust and the standard coolers were barely up to the task to begin with and either fell off or were dusty and had to be replaced. This cooler was compatible with the backplate that several LGA 1150 and LGA 1151 devices already had, so installing it after…

Crash Average CPU temperature 20 degrees Celsius

The CPU fan in my computer started purring a few days ago, a sure sign that it was dead. "Speccy" (great application to find under the hood of your computer) reported that my average CPU temperature is 60 degrees Celsius. In my quest to replace the CPU fan, I've learned a few things. First, the number is displayed fairly prominently on the motherboard. This number is used to find the correct CPU fan, they don't appear to be interchangeable. There are both 3 and 4 pin headers for fans. Before…

The thing is unbeatable for price and performance.

In the last 30 years I've built about 80-100 computers. I have used dozens of different air coolers around the camp. With the exception of some high performance Zalman in Oc'd computers, I have to rate this as an exceptional value for money air cooler. I mean, I've run $60-$80 air coolers on pretty typical computers that were just fine, heavy, and noisy. I have not overclocked this cooler. But seriously, you wouldn't be looking for 9 euros here - but if you were in between - I would buy it…

Good cooler, no backplate fan

I feel my interpretation of "easy to install" differs from that of some other buyers. The mounting plate of this cute cooler is located behind the mainboard. Nothing holds it in place until the cooler is securely bolted to the front. Therefore, for the installation process, without removing my board from the case, I had to hold the plate with one hand, hold the cooler with the other hand, and screw it down with the third hand. You may notice a discrepancy in the number of hands a person should…
