Ideal for sloping ceilings.

Build quality is poor, metal bends easily, some are slightly bent when shipped. However, they look pretty well installed and with sloping ceilings this was the most economical way to incorporate recessed lighting. I'm very happy with how they look installed.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Useless features

Easy installation for recessed lighting

Easy installation, fits like a glove in the recessed lighting cutout above our mantelpiece. The light rotates beautifully, it can be aimed anywhere and stays in place. Connecting was a breeze. I recommend to anyone who wants to replace old light bulbs with economical and bright LEDs.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Durable

Great product for the electrics

No problems after a few months of use. It's a fraction of the price at hardware stores and they work great. I have a low sloping ceiling so they are perfect for directing the light straight down. The light is bright and yet has a warm color. I have them on an LED dimmer. So far I can highly recommend this

Great light, poor quality control

Bought for a kitchen renovation. We have sloping ceilings and the gimbal function works great. I also love warm light. However, out of 5 lanterns purchased, 2 were not properly assembled. Luckily I had three other lights to refer to so I was able to take the failed lights apart and reassemble them correctly, but note that they are subject to little quality control. If you don't mind troubleshooting, the price is good and otherwise the product is ok.

  • Special offer

  • Vulgarity

Ideal for sloping ceilings

I have a steep sloping ceiling in my bedroom. A lighting consultant I spoke to came up with a cookie jar like solution. much nonsense. The tilt of these lights allowed me to direct the light down from the ceiling. In terms of reliability, I bought this flashlight a few years ago and it's still working. The failure rate of the integrated LED lighting was high for me (1 out of 9). Warm color temperature was also an idea for my bedroom. These lights dimmed very well without messing around with my…

These lights are ideal for sloping ceilings

These lights are ideal for sloping ceilings. They easily replace existing 5-6 inch can lights. You have a good price. And they only draw 10W instead of the 65W I was using! Keep in mind that this is a 2700k (warm) light that looks more like a regular incandescent bulb. There is another model rated at 5000K that is very BRIGHT (daylight). In my opinion 5000k emits an unusual light to see in a shop. I recommend 2700k for your home. Installation is very simple, unscrew the old bulb, remove the…

Pros
  • Satisfied
Cons
  • Easy repairability

The product is easy to install, looks good and works great and I'm not sure if I'm the only one who has noticed the following issue: Trim ring NOT WHITE is "white off-white" or "White Arizona". This would be fine, except that the color of the trim ring doesn't match the color of other nearby LED bulbs I've installed from another manufacturer/supplier (which have nice, true white trim rings). I didn't see anywhere in the description what color the trim ring should be - it actually says something

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

As this is an upgrade kit, I expected it to be at least the diameter of the glowing eyeball spot, but it's about 3/4 inch smaller than the standard Halo 74P eyeball. That's fine for a new build or almost new build, but it's far from ideal for a 30-year-old popcorn ceiling with dirt stains under the original trim ring due to air leaks. Almost twice the price, the Halo kit has the same problem of being smaller than a glowing eyeball. If you don't want to paint the ceiling, look for what's called…

Pros
  • . Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Almost everything is there

Great for body and fairing kits

OK. As such, there were several issues in providing the right light. However, the company did everything right. This is really a great solution. In my case the pot was placed in the wrong place to illuminate my work. This renovation allowed me to shed some light in that direction. Get the 2700K if you don't like really cold lighting. Even when dimmed, 5000K is pretty cold. It gives off a wide field of light, which is ideal in my case. Now it lights up my art and front door. I would like to see…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

As this is an aftermarket kit I expected it to be at least the same diameter as the patch ring on a red hot eyeball but it's about 3/4 inch smaller than the eyeball of the standard Halo 74P. That's fine for a new or near-new building, but it's far from ideal for a 30-year-old popcorn ceiling with dirt stains under the original decorative air leak ring. .Anyway, all other mod brands (including the Halo kit, which is almost double the price) have the same problem of being smaller than a glowing…
