There are definitely better jacks out there

I gave this jack 2 stars instead of 1 because I bought it as a refurbished jack from Revain. At the same time, I never set the limit of 20 tons. At best, he lifted my jeep once or twice. It doesn't get used very much so it shouldn't show much wear but as you can see from the photos the metal ring/seal came out with a bunch of jack oil. The descent was always difficult. Even with the exhaust valve open, I had to stand on it and hop up and down to get it to retract. I've had it for probably 1.5…

Good product for your money if you don't want to spend $150-$200 on a jack

I bought the Torin bottle jack despite reading the critical reviews: 1) bleeds, 2) jack doesn't go down on their own when the pressure is released. So far I have used this product once to change tires on my Toyota Tundra. This product does not look like the typical jack you are used to. This bottle jack requires around 50-70+ lever pulls to lift the car into position. It really annoyed me at first because I was used to the jack, which went up faster. But I realized I had paid for a $30 bottle…

Nice tool, serves its purpose.

So far I haven't had any problems with this jack. The color seems to have come off, but it's not so bad that I'm concerned. Bleed the jack and pour some jack oil in it, it will work great. I have a regular floor jack that goes up just as fast as floor jacks. I have used this on a low car, first raised it with a jack, then used a bottle jack to raise the car even higher, always use jack stands of course, this was done to install a new exhaust system. I recommend putting something on top of the…

Impressive and useful

I bought a 20 ton jack in April 2018. It has since been used to fell 20 inch diameter white pines by pressing them against the trunk to raise them. Trees in horizontal position to cut them into pieces and finally remove the stump by pushing it from the bottom up. After that, the ram did not rise again. There were no external oil leaks, repeated air purges didn't help. I called Thorin and found that it was only meant to be used in vertical orientation. Perhaps the fact that I used it at about a…

Edited: Jack not holding pressure

Edited: After writing the following review, the jack failed under heavy loading and needs to be restored. The jack does not hold the pressure and slowly leaks down. other tricks are useless. I can hear air coming out of the main seal. I'm pretty sure this is caused by the shipping and likely storage of the device on its side rather than upright. or I had a handle that indicated the correct vertical position. Now I have to spend extra time and money rebuilding the jack, ugh. I got my Jack from…
