Garbage Alternator, Avoid At All Cost

As a loyal automotive enthusiast, I had high hopes for this alternator. Unfortunately, as a result of my tests, I determined that it is utter garbage. The only positive aspect is that it is a genuine Toyota part. However, it lacks the performance and reliability that I was seeking for my high-performance car. Save yourself the trouble and money, and avoid this product at all cost.

Pros
  • Genuine Toyota parts ensure high quality and a perfect fit.
Cons
  • Some customers may find the price to be higher compared to aftermarket options.

Perfect fit for my 2004 Camry LE 4 cylinder engine

Be sure to call the dealer for the correct part number or look up the parts on their website using your VIN. Some 2004 Camry models appear to use shorter belts depending on where and when they were made in 2004. I first tried using the Gates K070763 belt but it was too short. I ended up calling the dealer and they gave me a part number: 90916-A2005. Fits my 2004 Camry. My chassis number starts with 4.

Pros
  • Original Toyota belt
Cons
  • Some errors

Good price, OE quality part, no fun replacing

This belt is OE quality. It arrived relatively quickly and cost about $42 with change. 3 minutes to dismantle and approx. 15 minutes of decisive effort when installing a new one. The job is not for laypeople or the faint of heart. Tight workspace. You need to choose the tools in advance and work carefully. I used a long torque arm and bushing to move the tensioner forward to loosen the tension on the belt. The handle could be pressed against the top of the motor to release the belt tension…

Pros
  • Genuine Toyota OEM belt
Cons
  • Outdated
