Slower than my USB 2.0 adapter on SSHD but not on SSD

Very slow. My USB 2.0 adapter is faster than this USB 3.0 adapter. It works fine but transfer is slow. I'm a little disappointed with how slow this adapter is. UPDATE: The more I use it, the slower it gets. I was hoping to replace the Cables2Go USB 2.0 adapter, but the difference in speed is negligible. UGREEN contacted me and wanted me to run a series of tests, but why should I test it for them as it should meet the requirements right away. I'm not a happy backpacker but for the price I'll…

NOT BAD - NOT EXCELLENT - some tips for competitors.

Works as advertised and is fast - very cool - but requires physical modifications to make it easier to use. Vice versa. 2) Trying to hook a hard drive to a SATA connector is a real one stupid PIA - it will be upside down first. However, to be flat you need to flip the gizmo, and the drive - right - is the only way to do that. indicator light. That means they've turned the plug on its head - there are no two options. However, it still works - just a scratch on the head. 3) It really needs to be…

NOT compatible with large drives as stated by the manufacturer.

Review Summary: Annoying machine, manufacturer display of 6TB drive support is incorrect. It seems to support some drives up to 2TB and some up to 4TB. This product is not worth your time. Below is my original review. This unit did indeed corrupt the 2 drives I plugged it into - they had nothing major on them, but what worries me is that I can't figure out why it corrupted them. found none of them larger than 1.5 TB. It doesn't appear to be compatible with drives larger than 1.5TB, although 6TB

SATA yes, IDE sometimes yes, sometimes no.

We bought this unit because like many others over the years we have replaced broken computers and wanted to try and recover data from them. Mostly family photos and such. SATA drives we've used this on, it worked fine and was able to get info, format the drive and slave the drive. The problem we had, like others, was that some IDE drives worked and stopped working after a while. With some of the IDEs we had, we were able to get most of the data we wanted, but were unable to format and save the…

Handy time saver

to replace a broken cheaper unit from another manufacturer. The old device worked out of the box, what I needed went into use after 3 years and NG. Saves so much test/copy time and eliminates the need to remove/install hard drives. Tried this uGreen on 3.5 SATA and 3.5 IDE drives and worked fine - after a while. I also like the presence of a power button AND the lack of an OTB (One Touch Backup) button as it was too easy to accidentally press it on the Kingwin device. These devices are small…

Easy to use, fast and [STILL] WORKS!

I use this tiny device to get my old desktop hard drives (HD) working so I can retrieve data from them. The converter arrived yesterday and I even received data from a floppy disk from when I had my very first digital camera, the DCS520! It works fast and efficiently, is EASY to use and comes with all the cables you need to use HD! The hard drives I connected to the converter were two SATA drives and the others were two old 3.5" IDE drives. At first I was hesitant to connect an IDE to it…

Thanks to support

The converter worked as advertised and I was able to access old IDE drives. I've also tested SATA drives and even two CD drives from old desktops. You deserve. Then something strange happened: a week later I connected the converter and everything seemed dead. There are no signs of connected drives, and no LED on the converter lights to indicate it's connected. I ended up isolating the power supply as the culprit. I connected another power supply with similar specifications and the device worked

Pros
  • Excellent data transfer rate of 5 Gb/s: With USB 3.0 interface, the data transfer rate is up to 5 Gb/s. The IDE converter is also backward compatible with USB 2.0/1.1.
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

What a tool! So happy I got this!

What a life saver! I found 4 IDE drives, two of which I knew were from the OOOOOLD build and the other two were unknown to me, so I got this device. All four drives burst into life, all four were surprisingly noisy and heated up FAST, in fact both of these factors were so severe that I didn't even leave the house to get the files out for fear of a fire. No kidding, I could boil an egg on one and the other two were so hot I used a t-shirt to grab them and put them in the pyrex to cool before…
