SSD bracket super easy to use

Aluminum case absorbs the heat of the SSD chip, feels warm when the hard drive is fully secured. The rubber mounts that attach the SSD to the case are very easy to use and much easier than traditional screw mounts, no tools are needed to open the case or install the SSD. Overall good value for money.

Perfect design and great performance

I've been a fan of Ugreen for a long time. Their products are well thought out and easy to use. They must have put a lot of effort into developing these things. This adapter works fine with my Samsung 970evo or pro or something like that, can't remember the exact model name of my SSD. However, on devices that support high-speed USB3.1 protocol like MacBook Pro, it runs smoothly at 1000Mbps reading and writing.

Works with PS5 - Hard Drive Accessory

, I can confirm this case works with PS5 REAR connectors. I tried using the Sabrient case first, but it only worked with the USB-C on the front of the PS5. Also, he had stability issues when exiting "Sleep" mode (or whatever it's called). I used this cheaper UGreen with the same NVME SSD (1TB Western Digital SN750) and it works fine with the rear USB-A ports. No stability issues. My only gripe is that I wish it had a thermal pad so the aluminum case could be used as a heatsink. Otherwise great…

Far from USB 3.1 transfer speed, gets terribly hot

Two stars because it works. Connected to PC via USB-C port on motherboard, read/write speed around 40MB/s (first screenshot). Connected to a 2017 Macbook Pro using the Macbook's standard USB-C cable - even worse. Runs pretty hot - 85C about 5 minutes after start, 93(!) after 1 hour. The sensor reported 69 C, which is the upper operating temperature range for NVMe. The fence was open the whole time so it would have been even hotter if he was around. However, thermal throttling and transfer rates

Works perfectly. If it turns off randomly, there's a trick.

When connected with a USB-C to USB-C cable, it works great for me. If you want to use a USB-A to USB-C cable, make sure it's plugged into a USB-A port that can deliver more power. The USB-A port on my laptop seems borderline, resulting in intermittent disconnects and weird crashes. Moving to a powered USB hub fixed the problem immediately. I suspect that the overcurrent protection on my laptop (Surface Pro 7) USB-A port is too sensitive. I'm using a 4TB SSD, so it can also use more power than…

NVMe SSD NOT SUITABLE; NOT USB-C

Good luck trying to fit your NVMe SSD into this "enclosure"! When I first received this "case" I first thought there was something wrong because it didn't look like the picture. To my inexperienced eye it looked more like a printer cable, so I requested a replacement. It turned out to be a very nifty new and improved version of the 'case' as the replacement I received a few days later looked exactly the same and there is absolutely no way it could be were printer cables mistakenly marked as…

Excellent case albeit with some problems with the cable and cooling

First of all, this is one of the few controllers with Asmedia's bridge chip that is among the best. The controller was truly plug and play and only worked with the WD Black drive. Which drive you install depends on what you need. If you're going to write a lot on it, I'd say you need a TLC disc. However, this is limited to 1GB/s due to USB (and yes, I tested that speed) so you don't want anything too high-end overheating. If you're using something with QLC flash, it will slow down when the…
