leaks near lid_possible manufacturing issue

After a few uses a pinhole leak started right where the reinforced neck piece comes in contact with the more flexible body material on top of the water bottle. It appears either to be a wear point from the bottle being rolled up and secured for storage or during the reinforcing of the plastic ring there during production a rough spot formed and caused wear. Either way it lasted less than about 4 uses before leaking. Like the concept but need a more durable product I can trust for long treks…

Pros
  • I use it for travel easy to attach to backpacks.
Cons
  • Do not buy. Broke after 1 use. Had several holes.

Taste is a concern with these.

Am enjoying these (2) but, had to find out so I looked-up the material (miraculous for so many challenging applications) and it is very hygroscopic; meaning it readily absorbs anything it is exposed-to. Soap, oils, cleansers, etc. can be tasted for quite a few cycles. Tried lemons, baking soda, vinegar, etc. Did not try the mfg.’s cleaning accessory product - maybe that’s the solution. The convenient usage features make-up for the taste issue.

Pros
  • Absolutely love it
Cons
  • Only three stars because after owning it for months still has a plastic taste.

Great for travel, crappy lid design

Overall I love this bottle. It holds a lot of money and compresses to take practically no room in your luggage. I bought this because I needed something that would hold at least 1L, but wouldn’t be bulky since I spend about 80% of my time traveling for work. Overall I think it’s awesome and best of all is that it doesn’t leak like I anticipated, but since the bottle has little structure, making sure you get the lid secured on completely can be a struggle which I have failed at on multiple…

Pros
  • A little small but it works great
Cons
  • Requires frequent refilling

Nozzle cracked good for me

I love the soft bag, as it takes up less room in my pack the more I drink, and when I am out hunting the water doesn't slosh around in it making noise every time I shift weight. The bag itself seems to be pretty durable, lasting significantly longer than the nozzle. The nozzle cracked pretty early on and finally began to leak. There is no flavor with this, however I did wash it thoroughly prior to use.It is a hart bag to clean with a small opening, and a welded seam to keep it from expanding…

Pros
  • ....but water has a strong plastic taste, which I think is gradually fading.
Cons
  • Not suitable for storing hot beverages

You can remove the strange chemical taste

I purchased the small size 250 liter, collapsable water bottle recently. As expected, it had a weird smell. I was able to remedy the smell by doing the following: Remove the lid so the bottle is open and exposed. Rinse a couple of times with clean water and shake it empty. Then I sprayed a combo of hydrogen peroxide, clean water and a drop of essential oil of lemon. Rinsed it well with this blend, poured out the liquid, and allowed it to dry by placing it on something that would allow the…

Pros
  • Easy to carry, perfect size, light and totally watertight
Cons
  • Cheap material. Cap broke and started leaking water after only 5 days of use.

NOT for liquor, learning curve when drinking from it

This is great for tossing in a cooler, backpack or car. It's made out of the same, or similar stuff water bladders are made of. Not rigid, very flexible and durable. The lid has a silicone anti spill flap/valve, similar to some condiment lids, so you have to squeeze or suck to get water passed it. It's not the easiest to do one handed, but can be done. Instead of holding it like a traditional water bottle, try grabbing it from the bottom and gather some of the bladder in your palm and squeeze…

Pros
  • Hydrapak is awesome and has super products! Will be buying more!
Cons
  • Not dishwasher safe

Retains chemical odor.

I haven't even been able to use it yet, as I am soaking it in vinegar, in the hope of removing that chemical taste. Theoretically, it is just what I need, a light, large, and flexible water container for my summer outings.

Pros
  • No leaks or drips thanks to secure cap design
Cons
  • The pouch may wrinkle easily and become misshapen

so much easier than bottles!

I'm a water bag convert. Was sent one hydrapak for free as part of a group trip, and I've now bought this second one as well. The bag is well made, seals perfectly, and doesn't drip even when the nozzle is open unless you give it a good squeeze to take a drink. I love that it folds down as you empty it and can be rolled up and stowed when empty. I was worried the water would taste like the bag- after using it a few times, there's a subtle taste, but it doesn't bother me, and I'm guessing it…

Pros
  • Extremely versatile and convenient for a wide variety of activities
Cons
  • May not fit in all water bottle sleeves on backpacks

Great for BASE jumping!

Exceptional quality. I’d rinse it quite a bit before the first use, I noticed a bit of bubbling for the first few times filling it up.

Pros
  • Packs down small for convenient storage in any travel bag
Cons
  • The collapsible design takes up more space in your backpack when filled

Rubber odor best in my review

It smells even after many washes with detergent n vinegar water. It is sturdy and good for hiking. I just wish the rubber smel goes away.

Pros
  • Superior quality materials ensure long-lasting use
Cons
  • Not as insulated as some other water bottles

Best foldable carry along bottle yet!

I use this for snowboarding. Fits in my larger bib pockets and allows me to not pollute the world with more single use plastics. I've tried a similar item before but this bottle is the strongest portable/packable/foldable bottle I've found. I won't switch away from this one. It froze once at 10°F but only the mouth piece not the entire bottle. It is a diaphragm actuated valve so you do have to such the water out which I personally prefer, therefore it won't fill with air.

Pros
  • Lightweight design won't weigh you down on long hikes or walks
Cons
  • Can be challenging to use with gloves on

Just like the description

It was perfect for the airport and to take to the amusement parks on my vaca No need to purchase bottled water. Rolls up lightly to save in purse when not needed

Pros
  • Can be easily flattened and stored in small spaces
Cons
  • Can be difficult to dry out completely

Convenient value: my feedback

No strange taste. Squeezable and with a sip of the top there is no spilling. The cap keeps it sanitary. The loop allows it to be attached to your bag or pant belt loops with a caribeaner. Small enough so it holds the same amount as a standard water bottle. Easy to fill. Other bags had cheaper material and stiff seams that had potential for leaks in the reviews. This one is solid.

Pros
  • Easily clips onto gear for hands-free carrying
Cons
  • May require more force to squeeze water out than a traditional water bottle

The best purchase best in my review

These are the best purchase! I use it for so many things but my favorite thing to use it for is concerts! It fits perfectly in your purse or attaches to anything with a carabiner. Doesn’t leak, folds up easily, easy to fill. Truly the perfect water holder for so many things in life!

Pros
  • Sports Water Bottles
Cons
  • Can be challenging to unscrew the cap

Not as easy at it looks

Did not like the item. I gave it a 3 rating because it was light weight and it was easy to carry and did not leak. However, you needed super suction to get any liquid out of it. I felt ridiculous trying to drink out of it.

Pros
  • Sports & Outdoor Recreation Accessories
Cons
  • Not as convenient as a standard water bottle

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect to sport and travel.

I am a ski instructor and this bottle is perfect to keep in my uniform. Durable and flexible doesn’t get in the way or leak.

Pros
  • Can be used to refill other smaller water bottles
Cons
  • The collapsible design may make it difficult to drink from at certain angles

Packs small. - my new review

When not being used it packs up nice and small. (500ml/17oz) the amount of water ( two cups + 16 oz ) most dehydrated meals call for. This is normally my designated water for re-hydrating a meal.

Pros
  • Durable materials resist damage and wear
Cons
  • The mouthpiece may detach if pulled too hard

Hardcore, doesn't leak -- I've been waiting for it to pop

This hydrapak is amazing -- I'm a rock climber, and I've put this thing through the ringer. I attach it to my harness by putting a carabiner through the sturdy built-in loop (along with all my other sharp gear, but it doesn't pop), and it's great because it doesn't leak at all and it gets lighter/more collapsable the more you drink from it. Perfect for my adventures. I've taken it on climbing trips to Mexico and the Black Hills with this thing hanging on my harness on multipitches and chimney…

Pros
  • POCKET SIZED - Flexible bail handle for comfortable carrying, quick attachment, and filling from a faucet, lake or river.
Cons
  • The cap may pop off unexpectedly

Top Quality Hydroflask

Perfect size for travelling on airplanes, its compact, lightweight and easy to stow away in a carry-on bag. holds perfect amount of water, and the flip top keeps it neat and dry with no drips or leaking.

Pros
  • Easy to clean with soap and water
Cons
  • Can be challenging to fill up in a sink or water fountain without getting the mouthpiece wet

Got a punture the first time I used it!

I was super excited to find a collapsible bottle that could fit my Sawyer squeeze AND clip to my climbing harness until I took it out and it got a puncture the after one days use out at Smith Rock climbing:-(I'm hopefully going to be able to return it directly to Hydrapak.fingers crossed.

Pros
  • Environmentally friendly alternative to disposable water bottles
Cons
  • May not fit in bike water bottle holders
