🔍 Reliable Oil Pressure Monitoring with VDO 360-009 Oil Pressure Sender Review

Didn't expect German made pressure sensor, really good sensor and surprisingly compact. There are no adapters included, but you get a good product for the price. Would buy a VDO product again!

I really like it. The thumbscrew connections are good and once installed it's a solid mount. I had to get an adapter for my block but I knew this was going to happen. A simple 2 plug connection and now my boy's 83rd Volvo 242 has a pressure gauge and a working "idiot" light.

VDO manufactures excellent measuring devices and sensors. They work and last forever. The only problem is that they still have to use regular white bulbs (non-LED), so installation requires you to fiddle with a little green or red plastic sleeve on top of the white bulb. The rest is great.

no complaints. This replaced the 150lb. A gauge sensor I accidentally installed to ride my 80 pounds. Measure. Doh! I spent a couple of weeks trying to figure out why my oil pressure was low until I realized that the wrong transmitter was causing my gauge to read only a low reading. Either way, only time will tell how durable it is, but so far so good.

This is a great sender. The G position is for the sensor and the WK position is for the incorrect oil level warning indicator. I wasn't aware of any of this, but once I understood each position I was able to properly connect to my 0-80psi VDO gauge. I left the dummy position blank as my cluster already has a factory low oil warning light.

I recently installed this on a 1600 DP engine in a '71 VW bus. I used an adapter from CB Performance to mount this pressure sensor and the VDO oil temp sensor into a threaded hole that a standard jerk light sensor fits. Both sensors are connected to VDO sensors. Here are the specs for this particular sensor, also known as part number 360-081-030-023C. First off, this is a dual sensor, which is great for those who want to keep the idiot light and also add a physical sensor. You can connect the idiot light to the WK connector. This turns the light on at 6 ± 2.0 psi The sensor operates in the 10-184 ohm range. I chose this sensor for the above reasons.
