I installed one of these and it didn't last a year (during that time it had 2 dozen activations). Unfortunately, the exchange will be painful. I put it on my tractor and really wanted waterproof switches because I use lights for clearing snow. However, the tractor stays in the garage or shed 99% of the time; I think he spent maybe 3 days a year in the rain, now he doesn't work anymore. Power is there, but the switchable leg gives me a whopping 2V instead of 12V. I assume it's no longer working…

As others have said, the quality is lame. 3 out of 5 switches are shorted to ground in the off position. All 5 worked as a simple 2 pin switch, but adding a ground to turn on LED 3 caused a short in the off position. I'm glad I always secured all power lines otherwise I could have had a bigger problem. I'm not sure how "waterproof" they actually are, the switch body is fully exposed to water so if it gets wet it may short out or turn on in the off position. They appear to be sealed going into…

I bought this 'watertight' switch to use in a waterproof case I built for my 12v marine engine battery on my catamaran. I liked the LED display; It was useful to know when the battery was on. I checked the engine today before starting my full kit cat and the engine was dead. I had to give up the walk, take the cat and tow it home.
