Worked great on my 2002 Ranger 520VX. The four stars are only given because the description says they come with mounting hardware, which is not the case. This isn't a problem for me as I used existing mounts, but be aware that if you're looking for a full kit, this isn't the case.

Bought these for my truck's aluminum toolbox lid to replace the old and worn uprights used to hold the lid in place when opened. They fit great and still work great. I chose the 22.5lb rated posts because the lid isn't heavy steel and doesn't require heavier support. So far I'm happy with it.

The stands were exactly as described and fit perfectly. I had a little problem (my fault) pulling out the clamp to install the rack. I pulled it too far and the clip spun in the ball. After that I had to use pliers to put it back in place. Lesson learned! Once everything was in place, installation was easy.

These parts are perfect for replacing the shock absorbers that hold the Gambler's center trunk lid. I wish I had gained 40-45 pounds but that was my fault. The length matters. The ones I replaced were too long so they didn't hold the lid very well. They only have power when fully extended, so keep them as short as possible while still getting the height you need.

There are no instructions in the box, scroll down the product listing to find what you need. If you have enough hands and a tape measure, you can install them. You need to consider the weight and size of the cover. I used for an old cedar box with a 24" deep lid. Not sure about the weight, probably around 15-20 pounds. Installed per the instructions for the 75 degree cap and two of those 22.5- Pound openers work great.

What we received is written next to the phone and marked as a stand, but these are not the stands we ordered, we are trying to get the correct order and are having a hard time, thanks. I bought these gas shock absorbers to replace the gas shock absorbers on the lid of my old toolbox. The lid isn't very heavy so the 10lb type worked well. I tried them on my truck tool box and they weren't strong enough and needed a 35 lb version. The only problem I had was that the directions were a bit unclear. For assembly under the clip, a small screwdriver is inserted and slightly lifted to seat the ball socket. The first time I overdid it and the clip flipped. I think it was user error…

I bought the 45lb / 200N version for the 20lb root cellar hatch. One post will not hold the hatch, but two posts (90lbs/400N) will do. Not sure how to figure out which rack to buy other than through trial and error. The screws that come with the kit are very short and small and I replaced them prior to installation. The installation dimensions given in the product description did not fit me. I think when in doubt, buy the next size and weight class and play with it for a while until it works.

I purchased 10" 100N gas struts for the "toy box" lid configuration. After measuring the posts, I found that the extended length at the pivot points was 9.69" ( not 9.84) and the compressed length is 6.19" (not 6.24). So the total travel is 3.5" (not the expected 3.6). As anyone using them in a DIY project probably knows installed small differences in size can have a big impact on performance.Also I'm a bit concerned that in a device it's at the end of the extension stroke.I just hope it's not…
