I finally bought the two lowest vacuum hoses

Heating and cooling work great. The other two hose blocks often have a noticeable negative pressure because they are poorly sealed on the inside. This block is very well sealed except for a few small holes. Quietest device I've ever had, easy to program, decent hose attachments, no vibrations so far. Vibrations are well isolated and not transferred to the laminate like in my other devices. The only downside I noticed at the moment is the ventilation on the condenser side. The exhaust fan isn't…

This Whytner Elite 122DHP Portable Heat Pump with Air Conditioning sold for $350. This is a two hose heat pump, air conditioner and dehumidifier in one bottle. If it holds up over time I will be very grateful! I decided to make double hose connections through the holes I actually cut in the wall and installed some custom made fittings through the wall. It keeps hoses short and out of the way. A short piece of 8 inch duct insulation from my local hardware store and I was ready to go. It…

Great device if you set it up correctly and read the instructions.

I don't usually write reviews but I'm writing this because of the many bad reviews on this thing. I've owned it for about 90 days now. This is after a failed purchase of a hose which I returned. I think people are too ignorant to understand how air conditioning works. They shouldn't even be sold with separate hoses. As far as I can tell, Winter is the only company with an ethical and knowledgeable designer. This unit recycles water for efficiency, has dual hoses to keep hot air from being…

My curiosity has vanished

I have read in many articles that dual hose portable air conditioners are much better than single hose units because fresh air cools the compressor. So I ordered this Whynter 12000BTU device. Pros: The device is solidly built, doesn't weigh too much, rolls easily and isn't too big. Cons: First, one of the four outer straps was missing. When we ripped the lid off the bottom of the box, everything inside fell out and spilled onto the floor. Was it like this from the factory? Has it already been…

Really high quality portable air conditioner and very quiet!

Just received my unit. The cooling works amazing and cools my room very quickly as it should as it is a 2 hose unit not drawing in room air to cool the condenser and I also tried the heating mode just to see whether it works, and it works great even when blown. Hot air like from a heater came out of the ventilation shaft and the exhaust hose was freezing cold. The noise level was also much lower than I expected, so while there is always a whistling noise while the fans are running, the…

Some Serious Design Flaws

After reading many reviews and explaining the flaws, I finally bought a portable air conditioner for my computer room. This is after years of my computer hardware turning my computer room into an oven. I chose a portable unit because window units are unsightly, block natural light, and are difficult to install/close/remove depending on the time of year. I chose the Whynter Elite ARC-122DHP after reading some reviews but having been using this device for the past few days my feelings towards it…
