Amazing colors, worth buying the full set!

I've hobbled around with pretty cheap creepy watercolors for YEARS and could never figure out why I couldn't get my paintings right, the colors always looked dull and grey, leaving bits and pieces and blobs and never really mixed. I thought I was and was so discouraged that I gave up watercolor painting for YEARS. On a whim I decided to try again and pulled out my old paints and found them dry and unusable. I had to get a new set. My husband remarked that they "were never good paints anyway"…

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • I don't remember

Nice color scheme. - Painting

The W&N Cotman Series is a very popular affordable watercolor so everyone already knows how good it is. This is my first watercolor set from w&n and I am very happy with it so far. However, I think the Royal Talens Van Gogh range (which I've been using for a long time) is "a bit" better than this one in terms of quality and pigmentation. Maybe it's just me. In any case, there is not much difference. This set has a very good coloring. Actually it's 40 + 5 halves. 5 of which are duplicates…

My favourite colours!

Love these colors. I use them over other colors that I keep coming back to. They come with 48 halves but some colors are repeated. I also love that the second pallet slot can be detached to save space on my small art table. This set did not include a brush. I place a small eyedropper in a small space so I can drip water into pots or transfer colors or fills to my palette. I also painted them all on the watercolor paper I usually use, laminated them and kept them in my palette box. They are in…

Great color in trash palette

Color is great colors are vibrant great color especially for beginners little mixing required to get the color you want. HOWEVER the main draw of watercolors for me personally is the portability, the ability to work outdoors while I work outdoors and this palette is rubbish compared to similar brands, every time I take it somewhere the trays shake and fall out. . I've started using folded plastic sheeting for the sides, when my paints dry or to stay in place they still shift and I'm not strict…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Easy to repair

UPDATE: I've had this set for over a year now and it never fails to amaze me. This is my favorite set. Tubes of Cotman's watercolors are only $4 at my local art store, and I've already filled a few. I can't rave about it enough. They're the closest thing to professional watercolors without spending a fortune, and they're fast enough to create professional-looking, long-lasting works of art. For the price, this set is worth every penny. The colors are very well pigmented and do not fade when…

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No effect

This is the most expensive (sold for 65, normally 95) base set I have ever bought. The colors are bland and there's nothing special or worth $95 ($65). 1) There is no sample card that my third graders use, there are sample cards to fill in. 2) Panels will NOT stay secure like Arteza or paint palette kit. . This set is not intended for mobile use or even for transport. 3) 3+ hours for shape and color to dry, never experienced that long. Usually minutes. 4) Unsafe packaging for the soil, all pots

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak

NICE! and comment on repetitions

I ordered this set on July 1st. Estimated delivery time was 1 month and I received it in 11 days. I was a little concerned that this set would have a lot of repeats, so I tried my best to do as much research as possible before ordering. This set contains 45 watercolor halves of Winsor and Newton Cotman. Here's the best answer I can give you: Winsor and Newton only make 40 colors in Cotman half-plates. So YES, THERE ARE 5 REPEATS. They repeat the 5 most commonly used colors from their point of…
