ideal for large cable ties

I already had one and gave it to an air conditioning specialist to use for the installation. I've used my original many times with no problems. It really tightens zip ties on almost anything. In fact, you can stretch the cables to the breaking point. The tool won't let you down, but the cable tie will! Having a cutter built into the tool is awesome. This saves an extra step. If you're working in a hot attic, you need to get out quick.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Works well when tightening and cutting nylon straps, but.

Love this brand and it works fine now but when it arrived one of the rivets broke. After the restoration I glued it in place and it seems to be holding, but this tool was never meant to be shipped. Lousy Chinese quality control or lack thereof. I can send it back to Revane for one that will hold together but I'm not sure the next one will be any better.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled

Leaves Very sharp protrusion

For the money it turned out to be a solid tool. However, after putting on a few ties, I decided that this remedy was not for me. The tool tightens and cuts the cable ties but leaves an approximately 3/16 inch protrusion that is razor sharp. I returned this instrument and ordered the much more expensive Thomas & Betts ERG-50 from Revain. This tool stretches and cuts ties in one step with no overhang.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Low maintainability

This is amazing stuff! You probably know what it's for when .

This item is amazing! You probably know what it's for when you look at it, a bit pricey, but as a professional auto technician, I know that to make money you have to spend money. I used this to redo the air duct in my apartment, I must have pulled until my fingers bled and this thing was still tightening the 36 inch zippers I had wrapped around the flexible air duct I installed earlier. This simplified the installation of the rest. The air duct works, it was necessary to buy it from the very…

Pros
  • Hard wearing surface
Cons
  • Not all fit

Wiss was always a good brand for me to buy

Unfortunately I threw this tool away. Wiss has always been a good brand for me. I work in the HVAC industry and need to install air ducts from time to time. This tool is difficult to fit on panduits when trying to tighten them on plumbing, very difficult to cut through 36 inch panduits which are fairly standard and generally uncomfortable to hold while working. I will be using the Lowes Stanley Fatmax Panduit pistol as it solves all of the above issues at a lower price.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Some bugs

I didn't know what I was missing but the quality is just ok

quality seems ok except my hinge fell out as mentioned by someone else. I put it back in and it works fine. Otherwise, it seems like a solid tool. It's just not worth my time to return it. Also, for my occasional use, there's no point in finding a suitable one for the same price or spending more on a better tool. If I used this daily at work it would be a big problem. However, for the price and my level of use, it feels solid and works great. If you've never used one of these before, being able

Heavy, reliable tool!

Disclosure: This is the first tool I've purchased or used to install zip ties, so I don't have much experience with it. However, I am very happy with it! I started out buying a pistol grip cable tie wrench, but then I noticed this and changed my mind. Mainly due to the all metal construction of this tool and some warnings about other types of tools jamming under certain conditions. This tool is great. I'm impressed with the build quality. The body is made from good, thick, seamed steel with a…
