Complete junk good for slide and negative scanners

It makes everything blue. After 3 successful scans, everything turned incredibly blue. Light does not fall very well when scanning. It flashes OK for half a second, then turns blue. So I know the negatives are good, but the scanner masks them with a bluish cast. I tried changing the settings in Wolverine to make it less blue but it didn't adjust to the normal color image. In the end everything looks distorted.

Pros
  • Good marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Decent inexpensive film scanner. Inclined to blue.

The film scanner works quite simply, the menu is clear and functional; However, film adapters don't hold up well at 120fps 6x6, and the internal camera is very sensitive to movement. Overall, the screen is large and usable, and scanning works reasonably well. Film adapters don't work well and images definitely have a blue shift. If you remove the blue and increase the sharpness to the maximum, the scans can be used.

Pros
  • A good product for its price
Cons
  • I'll write later

Not the quality I expected.

The Wolverine F2D was easy to use and the slides could be copied in seconds. My problem with my particular F2D was a copy of my 35mm slide. It was very grainy and fuzzy. Something must have been wrong with the light source because even the preview was of poor quality. I even compared it to a preview I got with a battery powered viewer lit by an old fashioned battery powered lightbulb. The old viewer provided a sharp image of my slide, much better than F2D. I was happy with Revane's return…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Fast and easy to use

Love this little scanner. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the JPEG image compression is too strong. I really like that I can quickly and easily review the negatives so I can decide what to scan. I gave up the more expensive scanners because it took a long time to preview and then scan a slide or negative. The quality of this scanner is good enough for internet use. I think it's worth being able to look at my old negatives on screen. Did I mention it scans up to 120 films!

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Can't remember

Works great if you are making your own negative holder

I called the company and gave them the exact size of the negatives I have from the 1950's and 1960's. They said I need this product and ordered it. However, the included negative and slide holders didn't hold the slides I had on all four sides. So I had to find cardstock paper and cut my own holder. After a few tries it worked well enough to securely hold rolled negatives in a horizontal position. In a few weeks I scanned more than 1000 photos from negatives. Overall the device works great once

Negative carriers - exacerbations!

The scans are fine but when you have some loose single negatives it is very difficult to hold them in the holder at all and the holders are difficult to open and close. Much less hassle with slides or whole strips of negatives. The problem is exacerbated with single 120 negatives. I actually try to work with slide mounts for my loose negatives, maybe without permanently mounting the negatives in them. There is also a small problem with the files on my computer, but to be honest it could be my…

Best manual feed film scanner ever

This was the BEST film scanner I've ever used [and I've suffered with both flatbed and film scanners since the 1980's]. What makes the BEST? You can feed film or slides through the device without loading media and then inserting the media. You simply select the appropriate media [35mm 120mm, and when the 35mm slides the alignment guide - then load the media and START LOADING THE FILM! On a flatbed you have to open the media, put the film on top and hope it doesn't slip, then close the media…

Uses only part of the body

Like most devices that convert slides and negatives into digital photography, this one uses a camera inside the device that essentially takes a picture of what it sees. What they don't tell you is that the camera is locked onto the largest negative the device will take. In this case, the large format negatives are 2.5 x 3.5 inches. If you want to convert a smaller film, it just uses a cropped version of the camera's CCD image and therefore a lower resolution. It's a great tool for converting…

Pros
  • HDMI output connector for displaying images on a TV/monitor in high definition.
Cons
  • Doubtful
