- this has to be high quality - whatever is holding the brass bristles to the head is not rust proof - it will rust after a single use - this is normal for the $3 version. but at $22 it's a shame - a manufacturer should be proud and spend an extra 3 cents per unit to switch the bristle holders from metal to stainless steel or copper. - be proud of what you do and fix it.

The new model has fewer bristles and wears out quickly as the brushes clean well. Buy a green composite comb if you can. It has way more bristles than the new model. I've had the opportunity to buy a few but I believe Worcester will be making greens for the rest of the century. Well I guess the end of time has finally come. Shame on Wooster for dealing with quality and your customers.

This is our most popular brush cleaning tool. We have bought several over the past 15 years. We actually wear out the bristles with use. Our brushes are old (15+) and with this tool they can work without paint and work well. The thinner brass bristles penetrate the strands directly and remove color from the inside of the brush. I wish I had known about this brush years ago. I paint my workshop in hot, humid conditions which causes the paint to stick and dry on my brush. This comb helps scrape dried paint off the bristles and then helps reshape the brush for the next use. By removing paint from the inside of the brush, the bristles do not tangle and remain flexible, greatly increasing the lifespan and drawing quality of the brush. Brushes have never been reused by me until now. While doing my research on procrastination, I read about using wire brushes to really clean them. I used to do underwater races and hand gestures. Latex paint pooled on the brush and killed it. But I have better brushes. Now I brush them with a wire brush (not too rough or you'll damage the brush) and all the color comes out.
