Great product for my opinion

I had some plumbing to do around the house and I used it and it worked quite well. I was looking around the house for something to cut one of my dog treats. It works great for cutting up beef trachea and beef cheek. I wouldn't recommend putting bone through it but it will basically cut any dog treat so I'm able to portion it off for them. I think they're easy to use and great value for the money.

Pros
  • Worked great and easily cut through a 1 inch pvc pipe.
Cons
  • May not work effectively on thicker or harder materials

Fine for occasional use, you get what you pay for

I used this 1 5/8" cutter primarily to cut 1" schedule 40 white PVC. I had about 20 cuts to make for the projects, and it was definitely a time-saver compared to a hack-saw.It is very sharp (hands beware). However, it does NOT cut straight, and later cuts were much worse than the early ones. To a degree, I was able to compensate by adjusting the angle of the tool, but for the cuts that needed to be dimensionally exact, I drew a straight circle around the pipe, and made the cut in 4-5 separate…

Pros
  • Item is value for money, as its so easy to use
Cons
  • No me agrado porque cuando la use se quebró

Easy to Find Color, Good Quality

The orange color of this PEX cutter stands out in a drawer full of uncommonly used tools. The tool itself is good quality, not something you would want to use everyday as the handles are pretty loose and it takes a fair bit of hand pressure to cut anything. These have slightly better overall quality then a similar set we bought at a big box store. The blade on this set is also reasonably sharp as it cuts without compressing or crushing the pipe. It can be difficult to make a very straight cut…

Pros
  • Pleasantly surprised, good value!
Cons
  • Out of the package didn’t even use, attempted to and the spring broke.

A decent PEX cutter.

I ordered this to cut the PEX line to install two new hot water tanks. The cuts were clean and even, but I had to be sure to square up the cut as I went along. I assume that it will work well on other flexible pipes, but I would be cautious with rigid PVC pipes after reading the other reviews. After cutting, the PEX lines held well with the new sharkbite fittings, so these served the intended purpose without any issues. I cannot comment on the long-term durability, but I am rating them four…

Pros
  • Pipe Cutters
Cons
  • Can be cumbersome to carry and store

arthritic hands can cut pipes now at a great price

I'm a single homeowner with a sprinkler system and a pond.both of which use pvc pipes. I'm older and have arthritis in my hands. These are a godsend! The ratchet makes it so easy for me to cut the 1/2" pipe in my sprinkler system as well as the 1 1/2" of my pond system. I have actually used garden lopers to try and cut sprinkler pipe, but it only works sometimes, sometimes it would crush the pipe. But there were times when I just knew I didn't need to hire someone to do such a simple task.and…

Pros
  • Works great & easy to use
Cons
  • the blade broke the 1st day of use after couple hours

Nothing better than a sharp blade on a set of PVC cutters.

My old set was getting so dull that the pipe would break every time I got half way thru the pipe. Which left the pipe broke instead of cut. Frustrating as that is, when you get something that is sharper it glides right thru. These worked great after dealing with my old set. The spring recoiled the handle and I was able to glide right thru multiple PVC pipe after getting these. We have become a disposable world so if you find your PVC cutters getting old and dull. Just go buy new ones. It is…

Pros
  • Very sturdy, feels great. Have used 5 times and so far so good
Cons
  • The blade of this knife broke in have on my second cut. Not only bad value but dangerous

Great Tool For Cutting 2-Inch PVC/ABS Pipe

We have a large rural property and I’m something of a DIY-er. I often work with large PVC and ABS plastic pipe. I’ve cut pipe like this in many ways, including with a handsaw, power saw, and Dremel tool with a wheel cutter. Problem with a handsaw – I sometimes don’t get my cut to line up all the way around and have to correct with a lot of file-work. With the Dremel, it heats the plastic up so it melts and I get globs of melted plastic along the edge I have to deburr. I bought one of those…

Pros
  • Got this for my hubs. He says it does what he needs it to do and does it well.Good quality for the price
Cons
  • Difficult to cut in tight or hard-to-reach spaces

High-quality tool on my review.

I typically buy tools that look similar to this at the big box stores and they have always worked well even though they are not the highest quality. They just have to cut plastic tubing, so they work well for a while until the blades wear out.I was thinking this was basically the same thing, but I was pleasantly-surprised; it is much better. It is much more solid and heavier. It is very sturdy and feels like it is a tool that will last much longer. It cuts tubing effortlessly and precisely. It…

Pros
  • Easy to use: Before starting, each hand holds a handle and pulls it upward in a fan-shaped way to open the blade, put the pipe diameter below 63mm in cutter, push down handle repeatedly, forthwith cut off. After cutting, clean the blade with rustproof oil.Close the handle for ready use next time.
Cons
  • Potential for blade to become misaligned or damaged

Works Great for my opinion

I've used this to cut 1" rubber hose and half inch PVC and have no issues with it working. Works as described, it ratchets down as you use it, and the blade is sharp, makes it very easy to make clean cuts fast. I have no problems with it, works great.

Pros
  • They are the perfect tool for anyone who needs to work with PVC pipes on a regular basis
Cons
  • May not be able to cut curves or angles effectively

Ratcheting Pipe and Tube Cutter

I have never owned one of these tools, but have had the need for one on many occasions. I received it just in time for a job in my home requiring the cutting of PEX tubing. This tool worked flawlessly and made perfect cuts. There were no instructions on its use in the box, but its operation is pretty intuitive. It took me a little while to figure out how the ratcheting mechanism works, but once I did, using the tool to cut PEX was easy. From what I can tell, the quality is quite good despite…

Pros
  • The cutters can be used to cut pipes in awkward or hard-to-reach places, making them a valuable addition to any plumber's toolkit
Cons
  • Could generate excessive heat during cutting

Cracked 2 " PVC for my opinion

I waited one day to start my pool pipe reconnecting project and two cuts were all cracked and i had to use my old pvc pipe saw to finish the jobs. Very disappointed.

Pros
  • Material:The durable cutting machine is made of 4.0 thickened manganese steel, sharp, and the surface is polished. The blade body is made of die-cast aluminum alloy with good strength, good durability and toughness, and is not easy to rust.
Cons
  • Not suitable for use in extreme temperatures

By george - it cuts PVC

Works just like it should. May require considerable hand strength and effort to use! I had a small project ( maybe 30 cuts )I worked out great - half the price of the orange box

Pros
  • Excelente para el trabajo que hago
Cons
  • May require considerable hand strength and effort to use

Very good PVC cutter for the price

I needed to cut a 1-1/4 PVC pipe. The pipe was very thick and I needed to make sure the cutter would adequately cut a pipe of that size. It definitely was big enough for the job. Two things that I noticed: 1) it gives your hand and forearm a bit of a workout, and 2) as it gets near the end of the cut, you have to hold the pipe (or have someone else hold it) to avoid the pipe starting to fall at an angle. On my first cut, it was about 85% straight but the last little bit was at an angle…

Pros
  • The cutting blade is made from high-quality materials, ensuring a long lifespan and minimal wear and tear
Cons
  • May require additional maintenance or cleaning beyond normal use

Does not cut straight

Figured I would get this to make it easier to cut pvc pipe instead of using a hacksaw. I decided to try it out first doing some practice cuts, I am glad I did. This tool always cuts at an angle. I shouldn't have to reposition the tool to get a straight cut. I would not recommend.

Pros
  • Hand Tools
Cons
  • Could produce inconsistent blade pressure or alignment
