I tested it after placing it on the bottom of my 10 gallon anole lizard tank. I didn't do anything to increase the temperature in the tank. At night; When my lightbulb is turned off, the temperature drops to the house thermostat setting. Anoles need 75 to 85 degrees and I can NOT have my house that hot. I live in the north midwest. Now I'm thinking how to keep my anoles warm enough until fall. This is a complete scam.

I bought this for my Hypo Cinder Corn Snake. I installed it below, next to her larger skin. In the summer, when I don't need a heat lamp, it gives off the perfect amount of heat on its own. Whenever she disappears under her bed, there's a pretty good chance I'll find her near the heating pad, nested like a bug. The pad stuck well and even got wet from excessive water splashes and still works great. Just the right size for my 20 gallon tank.

This product is terrible, first of all it is packed in a box. I don't know who came up with this package, but it's terrible. Next, 3M tape is a joke. I couldn't tell if it was two-sided. It looked and felt like a single-sided piece of duct tape. Great product. It keeps the temp and humidity in my 10 gallon tank at 70-80 which is perfect for my two hermit crabs. Before I got this I was struggling to keep my tank at the right temperature. Unfortunately this heating pad does not heat sufficiently. I expected a lot more from this device based on the reviews, but I think I'll have to choose another brand instead. My tank doesn't go above 80F which is way too cold. This was verified with my heat gun, with additional verification with my thermostat reading sensor (inserted 1 inch into the substrate) which noted the same lack of heat. I use it as a night heater for my gecko and it works great! However, I connected it to a temperature reader to better control the temperature as it is more secure.
