Saved my canary in an egg

The container was much larger than those I found in pet stores. Calcium powder was recommended by the bird keeper for my egg bound canary. It worked because the bones and mineral blocks didn't have nearly enough of the nutrients she needed. Unlike the vet who gave her hormone injections that only caused her feathers to fall out.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Great price

Worked for our Indian Ringneck - Egg Laying

Glad we found this. Our Indian Ringneck, 10 years old, started laying eggs last year. First it was one, and this year it was 3 eggs in the last batch. Our vet advised us to add calcium. I bought two products. This one is good because our bird doesn't avoid it. We found that the last two eggs were completely opaque before the addition of calcium. Not good. Now that she's getting calcium, the eggs are pure white with a strong shell. Many Thanks

A good container at a price that should be enough for mine.

Great container for the price that lasts a long time for my two ringed pigeons. Calcium is VERY important for my birds, especially females because of the laying season. This is a high quality powder that is definitely worth the money. You'll save on vet bills and heartache by feeding your bird the right diet instead of just tossing the seeds in a bowl. Just follow the advice on the label: if you're not sure if it's too much, ask your veterinarian. Too much calcium is just as bad as no calcium.

Huge difference in my cockatoo feathers

Heard from someone that they used this to regrow their bird feathers. I started adding this to my cockatoo feed about a year ago and it has really made a difference. She was not well cared for by her previous owners and when she came to me half of her feathers were gone. Their feathers were so bad that they crunched and broke. After six months she is only missing a few breast feathers and all feathers have grown straight, only the tips are a bit crisp now. I am very impressed with the results.

Great product that has made my birds and I happy!

My finches love this stuff and it has helped them get their feathers back! The molting of my birds was unsuccessful this year. I know that feather follicles need a lot of calcium to fully develop. I have bought very expensive tonics and various forms of calcium from poultry specialists and breeders but have NOT had the success I have had with this material! Even though the moulting period was over I ordered it and it helped my birds fledge on their poor bald heads! Plus they can't wait to get…

Excellent Quality - Birds

I bought this to sprinkle on fresh sprouts on my Bourke's parrots during breeding to prevent egg binding and to mix a little into my hand feed chick mix. Don't give it daily and don't overdo it. Yes, these are dirty people - this is a very fine powder. The consistency is similar to powdered sugar. This does not mean that there is anything wrong with the product. However. I had one chick with legs spread because the hen sat too hard on him for the first 5 days of her life and put pine shavings…

Powder too fine

As a calcium supplement this is premium quality. It works and works well IF you can get your bird to actually eat it. It's a big "if" because the powder is so fine that it coats to the point where it washes away all the colors and patterns in the foods you mix it with. - hence the attractiveness of the food. The cheerful colors of my favorite birds, Tsupreemny granules turn snow-white - almost like powdered donuts, except they are clearly not tasty. In fact, I can't get my birds to eat at all…

Highly recommend if you have females laying eggs

Much more than I expected will last a long time! So it's very cost effective, especially if you have more than one bird. I bought this to help with egg tying for a female duck and it gets the job done. Before she supplemented her diet with calcium powder, she had to go to the emergency room for egg laying almost every year during the laying season. One day she almost died and the vet told us how lucky we were that she didn't die. Those vet bills totaled about $1,000 each time! This calcium…
