This tool doesn't work

I tried to cut a 3/4" copper rod but it didn't work. The tool is poorly designed, the 3/8 x 1/2" body is too thin and the tool will flex under load and generally not cut. Maybe with thicker tools, more than 3/4, it could be better. If you need a parting tool for a small lathe that requires a thin-bodied (3/8 inch) tool, don't buy it. I'll try to weld some rebar on top of the fuselage and see if I can use it.

Pros
  • Cutting tools
Cons
  • Crumpled

TERRIBLE! There's nothing difficult about that!

First cut, first contact and SHOULDER! The carbide insert is broken. When I say first cut, I mean one or two thousandths of a contact, and that's all it takes. I'm really disappointed with this parting tool, I've always had good luck with Accusize products but this is a complete failure! Can't even say I got my money's worth with this, it took more time to set up than it took to get anything done. I definitely threw my money away for this!

Pros
  • Face Grooving Inserts
Cons
  • Damaged

The material of the holder is too soft and loosens the bit

The tool looks good but looks can be deceiving. When the bits are fully seated in the holder and secured well, of the 5 bits, 2 came out of the holder when turning the aluminum bar, and 1 came out and stuck when turning (easy to machine) mild steel. With steel, the lower part of the holder hit the steel rod and grew. Mine may have skipped the heat treating step, but I'll never know. Very bad purchase, not recommended.

Pros
  • Interchangeable bits
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
