my son is small for his age, athletic but skinny, and according to the size chart he was small. I ordered a medium even if it was a compression shirt it would be too small - waste of time/energy and now we have to go back. The sleeves are really long but tight and even dry, he couldn't put them on and take them off. disappointed with the size.

Booked last minute for the water park. Was disappointed that it was too tight! Not tight as ordered, too small, tight like wrong! Any or wrong! For example, the neck area was so small that it didn't fit over my child's head (he doesn't have a big head either - I'd say he's medium sized). HE DOESN'T FIT HIS HANDS TOO! It was so tight to pull his arm out let alone once on his arms it was so tight I was afraid his circulation would be cut off! Needless to say, we ordered it from target right…

The quality is good, but the size didn't fit. My son is 10 years old and very skinny and it says the right size and a large fits him but his sleeves and length are too short, make sure to order a size up.

My son needs one of these every year as it grows like weeds and is so white it glows lol. This is great for protecting my baby's skin when they want to have fun in the water and in the sun.

March 2022. I don't know if other reviewers have stated a different manufacturer or similar, but as of 2022 these rashguards are true to size. I ordered the larger sizes because I read the reviews. Order the actual size your kids are currently wearing.

Ordered 2 sizes larger than my son normally wears. It's so small he can't even put it on. He's a slim tall kid and I've never found anything that's too small for him, especially when I've ordered 2 sizes up.

I don't like that all children's clothes come in so many different sizes, so this theme isn't limited to Revain Essentials. My son will grow into it but the sleeves are very long and the shirt is baggy making it difficult to swim (like heavy clumsy fins that don't allow for a better swim). I bought him another one, a smaller 2T, which I will use until he grows up.

Bought for my son for swimming lessons. I was surprised how well made this rashguard shirt is. The material feels dense and silky and is not too dense. Perfect for our active guy. He even wore it to soccer practice to protect himself from the sun. I already bought a backup copy for the time of washing. 10/10 highly recommended.

I ordered a small blue top and a small size Gap underneath for comparison. I'm not sure if the environment will be big enough!

I bought this for my 4 year old. It's hard for him to put his hands up his sleeves. The quality is normal, but I would like a looser cut.

The quality is good but very small. I ordered a medium and it is smaller than my son's other brands. I had to send back but the larger ones are sold out.

However, the material is excellent, the shirt fits very strange. my body is normal I don't look like a pear or anything. But where the sleeves meet the shoulders, they're twisted or something. It just doesn't fit. Uncomfortable and short sleeves.

Ordered an M for my young son who normally swims between sizes and medium on him and it was too tight and wouldn't budge. Put it on my 4 year old brand new and it will barely fit him and he has to roll up his long sleeves. Order in advance! I would have sent it back but we were on vacation when this all happened.

This rashguard appears to be of good quality. Nice and thick and I think even though it's white it won't be transparent. But that is very little. I ordered a large for my son and as you can see from the photo it is smaller than his old signature Cat & Jack tote bag which I put it on.

Really bad quality. My son (4 years old) wears it in the pool for an hour or two almost every day and it only lasted a couple of weeks. The rubber band falls off entirely, and it's pretty much useless at the moment. When we take it off, the peeling gum slides over his skin and hair. I will try to return. Terrible product. waste of money.

Initially, we couldn't be happier with this swim shirt. However, the shirt literally started falling apart after 2 months. It looks like he's been in contact with a chemical, but the only thing we can think of is a spray tan. Attention buyers.

My child is 50 pounds and will be 7 soon. Part of the upper body was a bit tight. Even trying to get my head in the rashguard was tight. I had to go back. I would take a size up but then I would think the sleeves would be too long.

My son usually wears small, but in this case I bought medium. It has a very thin and tight fit. I recommend getting a size up especially if you want it to last more than one season.

My preschooler is almost 4 and about 40lbs wearing 4/5T on top. I ordered an XS which is about a 5 according to the size chart. They were SUPER tight and difficult to put on. Definitely runs small and I would suggest going at least a size up, maybe even two depending on how loose you want it to be.

I chose them to match my son's patterned swim trunks. It's made from swimwear material and not some weird shirt mix like other brands, so it's just right for him to wear to the pool so his shoulders and back don't even burn from sunscreen. Fits as expected.
