Description of 🌾 Oxbow Oat Hay (425g) (Pack of 2): Premium Quality Nutritious Oat Hay in Convenient Bundle

Hay is absolutely vital to the health of small herbivores. It provides not only nutrition, but environmental enrichment that mimics the animal's natural habitat. It also provides a long-strand fiber source that is needed to improve the digestive and intestinal functions by stimulating the digestive system. When animals are fed free-choice hay, it promotes their natural chewing behavior, which helps prevent molar spurs and other dental problems that are so common in these small herbivores. Oat Hay is companion forage that is similar in nutritional analysis to the western timothy. Your animals will love the immature oat grain that is contained in the seed head and will benefit greatly from the fiber in the leaf and stem. Difficult to get out of the packaging.

I cannot speak for the quality of the product in terms of ingredients but I am very disappointed with this product at the moment. It was ridiculous even trying to pull the hay out of the bag, it's so stringy and long. Almost impossible. When I finally managed to get something for my guinea pigs, they scattered everywhere. What annoys me the most about this product is the way the hay is packaged. I hope not all bags are like that. It looks like the hay could have been cut into smaller pieces…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Variable quality

Difficult to estimate. This is the second order (two bags) of this type of hay from Oxbow. The first order contained some pretty good, soft (if that's the right word) hay, which the bunny loved. (He attacked her like it was his first meal in days.) The last order was tough, straw-like, very dry hay. It doesn't excite the rabbit like the first order. I don't know which order best represents oat hay, but I can easily see that the order is missing. I don't know if we will buy it again because it's

My picky buns love it more than Timothy Hay

I adopted a rabbit who is about 1.5 years old and has a very lively personality. Before that I didn't know anything about rabbits so I had to do a lot of googling and find out what she likes/dislikes. I know they should be eating lots of hay according to their diet, but I noticed she wasn't eating as much as I thought it was and she had more watery poo, so I bought this to try and tempt. She eats more hay. She clearly seems to prefer that over Timothy's hay. According to Google I always add…
