This hood is designed in the shape of a tank. I was shocked. It locks and rotates on the lens like a true professional Fujifilm lens hood. A very reassuring click when it engages. It's like screwing the door on a bank vault. Very German feeling. It's a bit heavy though, so if every gram counts, this isn't your hood. It's SOLID and heavy. Basically you're shooting a camera with a lens, so that's a few grams more. The coolness factor is worth it. The only odd thing is the rectangular cap that comes with the hood. feels cheap like it doesn't belong. But it's still ok because I don't see a need for that rectangular lid. I just threw it in the trash. A budget photographer isn't going to use this cap anyway, because when you're shooting outdoors you don't want lens caps getting in the way.
