Most people probably don't know that the camera comes with a factory protective film (I have a NEX 6 camera, be sure to check your model). It's installed so well that initially I didn't realize it was there, but since it's plastic it causes ugly fogging and scratches on the screen. If yours isn't as worn as mine, you probably never noticed. You can barely see the extra layer in the corner of the screen in Image 1. You must remove this protective film. I had to use a razor blade to bend the corner (photo 2). The original screen protector might have been ugly, but it protected the screen from scratches (Figure 4). Use the provided cloths and wear rubber gloves to avoid getting oil on the screen. When the screen is completely clean and dry, straighten the new glass protector and set it aside. Ideal! (Figure 5). I've seen more than one review showing large white areas that are not adjacent to any property. I suspect these users probably weren't aware that the original plastic protector had to be removed and the new one wouldn't adhere well to it.
