Description of HOPES Furniture Natural Moisture Resistant

Easy to Use - Tung oil is a natural oil recognized by craftsmen to offer the ultimate hand-rubbed finish for all fine woods; just wipe on and allow the oil to cure at room temperature. Permeates - Unlike other finishes that form a film on the wood’s surface, tung oil penetrates deep into the wood fibers, cures to a flexible non-oily solid, and becomes part of the wood itself. Protects - Resistant to moisture, alcohol, oil, and everyday wear for lasting beauty and protection; lasts many times longer than mineral oil and wax based products. Multi Use - Amazing results on almost any surface that will allow the oil to penetrate - new unfinished wood, weathered wood, stripped wood, concrete floors and countertops, even brick, stone, and cast iron. Approved for Food Contact Surfaces - Since tung oil is considered non-toxic when dry, it is great for cutting boards, butcher blocks, countertops, wooden bowls, wooden utensils, and more. 100% Pure Tung Oil- Hope's Tung Oil is the “best of the best” pure Tung oil grades. We only use premium oil, pressed from the best Tung nut crops from growers around the world. Why Hope's? #1 Best Selling Brand, Recognized Experts, 50 year USA based company that stands by it's product.

Change Noticed: Wood Polish & Care

I like this finish for woodworking. But I noticed that this batch is thicker in viscosity. Makes it difficult to apply evenly and requires more product. I wonder if they changed their mining process to increase profits?

Excellent quality, suitable for house cleaning

It is actually 100% tung oil. All other brands I have seen are not pure. They have been cut out. You can always cut mineral oil tung oil yourself if you need it thinner. So you get what you pay for here. Excellent quality.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Low maintenance

Great non-toxic solution

I used it to condition my garden boxes. It worked well and I was able to do it in a closed garage. The flavor is similar to nut butter, and it is. It's not a very pleasant smell, but it doesn't smell like poison, and it's a great way to weatherproof wood without chemicals.

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
Cons
  • Something's wrong

Quality Home Care Product

I have used Hope's Pure Tung Oil for many years. I use it to finish cutting boards and other hardwoods. Easy to apply, absorbs quickly and dries in a few days. The finish has a durable appearance reminiscent of hand sanding. There are many modified tung oils, some with additives or varnish. As far as I know, Hope is the real deal. It costs a little more, but it's enough.

Love this product on Wood polish

Tung oil Was securely packaged and dispatched quickly. It was easy to apply, the smell was chocolate-almond, not very strong. We used it on stained wood for a bench. Some instructions say not to use over stains. We stained our wood with an oil based stain and after the wood was completely dry we applied 3 coats of tung oil, allowing each coat to dry and lightly sanded with 320 smooth sandpaper before applying another coat. The wood turned out beautifully. We have never used tung oil and will…

Fresh and excellent quality

This tung oil was very fresh. It flowed beautifully and was easy to use. Some tung oils are too thick and smell rancid when you first open the container. Not this one. He quickly dove into the forest. It dries fairly quickly (walkable after 24 hours) and cures to a good cure in a few weeks. The oil protects the wood much better than the previous polyurethane coating. It doesn't make soft wood harder (never mind). However, the dents, dents and scratches that softwoods like pine get from rough…

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • String is shorter than other picks
