Fake cheap incompatible cable advertised as CAT 5 or CAT 5E

Product arrived on time but this cheap cable is not CAT 5 or CAT 5E as advertised. The connection speed was very slow. The DC continuity test passed, but the cable tester showed split pairs for pairs 4-5 and 7-8. The contact for pin 7 was not crimped correctly and was damaged by the crimping tool. I cut off the RJ45 to examine it and the cable isn't even a twisted pair. I threw this junk in the trash.

Pros
  • . The cable connects all hardware devices on the local network. Ideal for use on 10/100/1000BaseT networks
Cons
  • not reliable

Good buy for some of the best cables and accessories.

. . The materials are definitely lacking in quality. It's very light, almost as light as a cheap phone line, and the case was so thin you could feel the wires inside. Other than that, it does what it's supposed to do quite well from what I've experienced, but if you plan on using it somewhere that can be stepped on I wouldn't recommend it due to its fragility. Internet at the right speed, as it should be long enough for many uses Cons - very cheap accommodation - cheap materials

Pros
  • . No molding protects the connection.
Cons
  • . I'll write again later.

I have a hard time believing that this is actually a network cable let alone a Category 5 cable. When I noticed how thin it was and that there was no writing on the outside of the cables (unlike the sample picture), I cut off the end (I was going to make my patch cords out of it anyway) and noticed the following. :- No twisting of individual wires.- This is not an EIA/TIA 568B color scheme. Each wire has its own color. In the attached image, the left side is what I expected. I bought the right…

Pros
  • Durable Category 5 patch cord has two RJ-45 male to male connectors
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen
