But they serve my purpose.

5 stars except the keys don't go in easily. At first I thought it was the wrong key phrase, but once you figure it out it should be easy. You just have to position the key very precisely against the keyhole. But not everyone can. I ordered these because they are thin enough to fit my suitcase's zip holes, unlike other locks that are too thick.

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • Annoyed

No Combo - Cheers

I had a bad experience with the combination lock version so this is exactly what I wanted. This picture shows 4 keys, but there are only 2 keys for both locks. The key in the lock does not fit quickly and accurately, and it takes a lot of maneuvering to get the key in the lock. If I was traveling a lot I would replace those luggage locks with something more appropriate.

Pros
  • Glitter
Cons
  • Something Else

They work pretty well but not perfectly

These locks work pretty well but sometimes they don't want to open. I had to spray some lube on the innards and have yet to shake the key once inside to allow it to open. but they work. Remember, if you are using these on rigid foam cases they will NOT fit. If you need a laptop bag like the Pelican 1085 bag, it fits.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Socket required

Right price for basic locks

These locks meet our needs. We never take valuables with us when we travel. We were looking for a simple lock with a key to close the zips and that was more than adequate. They had already had several vacations and it was wonderful not to have to deal with the combination. Is this the best lock you can get? - No. But they're good enough to keep accidental fingers out of the airport.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Compatibility

Good locks, but decide based on facts.

These little locks worked as expected on a recent transatlantic flight. TSA opened my bag (left a note) but the locks were not damaged, they obviously opened and then closed those locks as they should have. Generally decent quality locks. Please note that these locks are no different from other Master Locks (model 4683q), the only difference is that both locks and keys have cheap plastic casing. If you remove the plastic cover (which I did) they come out the same as model 4783, but note that…

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • so far so good
