Essential for SPS assemblers

Works much better than Apogee's original PAR meter. The original meter reading was 135 higher than this PAR meter. After adjusting the lighting with the new gauge, my corals started growing again.

Used sensor for me?

Not a good shopping experience at Revain. They sent me an old model as the new model should have a blue sensor. Scratches everywhere, which to me means it's not new old. One appears to be in use. The box is unsealed before shipping, as you can see there are two round labels (the picture should be blue). On the box.

Amazing gear, really useful and easy to use

Anyone familiar with lighting and plants knows that PAR is a way of measuring how much light a plant is actually receiving. This device measures just that, accurately and very easily. Unfortunately, I find this product a bit pricey for what it really is - it seems like you end up paying only for the quantum sensor itself, and very few resources have been invested in developing the updated handheld device. I ended up buying a used mq500 version of this unit from a friend at a much better price…

Pros
  • Camera and photo
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
