Review on Acer G246HL Abd 24" LED Monitor - 1920X1080, 60Hz, Tilt Adjustment by Joe Polega

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Well worth the money and so far very happy with my purchase. I will update in a few months.

Acer G246HL 24" LED Backlit Screen This is an overview of the Acer G246HL 24" monitor. I needed to get a new monitor installed and my birthday was coming up so I started looking for monitors. I looked at many different brands of monitors, read their reviews, etc. I ended up buying them because of 1) the number of product reviews and 2) they sold for $100. - Fast delivery! - I bought 2 of these on Monday and opted for free shipping. They were on my doorstep on Wednesday (2 days later!). I was very pleased with how quickly they got here. My postman decided to leave the package on my wet porch when it rained so the boxes got a little wet, but the monitors were packed so well that the water didn't damage them at all. They were very easy to unpack and install. Stand. The stand was easy to install (some reviews say difficult). You may need someone to help you tighten the screws. but that's all. Also, one of my monitors tilts to the left while the other doesn't tilt at all. I have a mount on the way, so I don't need to worry. This is disappointing though and my OCD is going crazy right now. Brightness. The brightness will be very, very bright when you turn it on for the first time. If that bothers you, don't buy monitors. did someone else do it for you? lol. I ended up setting the brightness to around 30 and maybe lowered even more. I bought 2 of these monitors and when the brightness on both monitors is set to 30 the right monitor is slightly brighter than the left. I can still adjust the brightness between both monitors, but it's frustrating that they don't match by default (brightness of 30 on one should be the same as brightness of 30 on the other. Hmmm). on the monitors were frustrating. The buttons are at the very bottom of the monitor and there are no labels for the buttons on the monitor itself. Whenever you press the menu button (far left), a pop-up menu on the monitor labels the buttons for you. Now that I'm used to it, I find the menu to be pretty neat. You just have to be patient with it. :) -Graphics - The picture you get on these monitors is very sharp and clean. I bought them for casual gaming and fell in love with them whether I play or not. I've read in other reviews of these monitors that there were bad pixels, dead pixels, and general color issues. I haven't had any issues but will update this review in a few months (or if something happens). Main Cons: There is no HDMI port for these monitors. This makes me sad because I can only use two of them with my computer. I've never seen the need for more than two monitors, but the fact that this isn't currently possible is a little depressing. I think if I decide I need more than two monitors I'll have to buy one with an HDMI port. My right monitor tilts to the left. Because of this, I can't align my monitors side-by-side. I have a mount on the way, but this can be disappointing for those who don't purchase mounts.
